ఆదివారం తూర్పుగోదావరి జిల్లా కపిలేశ్వరపురంలో జీఎస్‌ఎల్‌ వైద్య కళాశాల, సూర్య ఛారిటబుల్‌ ట్రస్ట్‌ కలిపి ఏర్పాటుచేసిన హెల్త్‌కేర్‌ సెంటర్‌ను ఏఐజీ హాస్పిటల్స్‌ ఛైర్మన్‌ డా.నాగేశ్వరరెడ్డి, రాష్ట్ర వైద్యారోగ్య శాఖ మంత్రి సత్యకుమార్‌లతో కలిసి ఆయన ప్రారంభించారు. రాజమహేంద్రవరంలోని జీఎస్‌ఎల్‌ కళాశాలను, రాజనగరంలోని జీఎస్‌ఎల్‌ వైద్య కళాశాలలోని స్మార్ట్‌ల్యాబ్‌ను సందర్శించారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా చిరంజీవి మాట్లాడుతూ నేను ఇంత ఉత్సాహంగా, ఆరోగ్యంగా ఉండడానికి కారణం అభిమానుల ప్రేమే. మీ అభిమానం ఎప్పుడు ఇలానే ఉండాలని అన్నారు.
డా.నాగేశ్వరరెడ్డికి నేను అభిమానినని చెప్పడానికి గర్వపడతానని చెప్పారు. ఆయన రోజుకు 18 గంటలు రోగుల సేవల్లోనే ఉంటారని, ఆయన సూచనలు, సలహాలతో ఆరోగ్యాన్ని మెరుగుపర్చుకుంటున్నానని తెలిపారు. ప్రతి ఒక్కరికీ క్యాన్సర్‌పై అవగాహన అవసరమని, ముందుగా గుర్తించగలిగితే ఆ రక్కసిని జయించవచ్చని చిరంజీవి అన్నారు. ప్లాస్టిక్‌ వినియోగానికి మనమంతా దూరంగా ఉండాలని కోరారు. వైద్య విద్యార్థులకు సమాజంపై బాధ్యత, వ్యక్తిగత క్రమశిక్షణ, నిరంతర అభ్యాసం ఎంతో ముఖ్యమని పేర్కొన్నారు.

ఏఐజీ ఆసుపత్రుల ఛైర్మన్‌ డా.నాగేశ్వరరెడ్డి మాట్లాడుతూ ‘ఇటీవల ఎక్కువ మంది క్యాన్సర్‌ బారిన పడుతున్నారు. ఊబకాయం, మధుమేహం, థైరాయిడ్‌ వంటి మెటబాలిక్‌ వ్యాధులూ కనిపిస్తున్నాయి. 40 ఏళ్ల లోపు యువతలోనూ క్యాన్సర్‌ కేసులు కనిపిస్తుండటం ఆందోళన కలిగిస్తోంది. ప్యాక్డ్, అల్ట్రా ప్రాసెస్డ్‌ ఆహారం అతిగా తినడం సరికాదు. రసాయనాలు, ప్రిజర్వేటివ్స్, కృత్రిమ రంగులు అధికంగా ఉండే ఆహారం కాకుండా ఇంట్లో వండిన సహజమైన ఆహారాన్ని తినాలి.
