వాషింగ్టన్‌: అమెరికా ఎన్నికల వ్యవస్థలో భారీ సంస్కరణలకు గాను గట్టి చట్టాలను తీసుకురావాల్సిన అవసరం ఉందని చెబుతున్న ఆ దేశ అధ్యక్షుడు డొనాల్డ్‌ ట్రంప్‌..భారత్‌లోని ఓటరు గుర్తింపు కార్డుల విధానాన్ని ప్రశంసించారు. తమ దేశంలోనూ దీనిని అమలుచేయాల్సిన అవసరం ఉందని ‘ట్రూత్‌ సోషల్‌’ ద్వారా వెల్లడించారు. భారత్‌లో 2024లో జరిగిన సాధారణ ఎన్నికల్లో 64.6 కోట్ల మంది ఓటర్లు పాల్గొన్నారని, వీరిలో పోస్టల్‌ బ్యాలెట్‌ను వినియోగించుకున్న వారు మొత్తం ఓటర్లలో ఒక్క శాతం కన్నా తక్కువేనని ట్రంప్‌ పేర్కొన్నారు. భారత ఓటర్లు అందరికీ ఫొటో గుర్తింపు కార్డులున్నాయని తెలిపారు. ఇటీవల తమ దేశ పర్యటనకు వచ్చిన భారత ఎన్నికల సంఘం ప్రధాన కమిషనర్‌ జ్ఞానేశ్‌కుమార్‌..‘ఓటరు గుర్తింపు కార్డుల్లేకుండా అమెరికాలో ఎన్నికలు ఎలా నిర్వహించగలుగుతున్నారని మా అధికారుల వద్ద ఆశ్చర్యపోయారు’ అని ట్రంప్‌ వెల్లడించారు. అమెరికా ఓటర్లు పౌరసత్వాన్ని ఆధారంగా చూపడాన్ని తప్పనిసరి చేస్తూ చట్టం తీసుకురావాలన్న తన వాదనను సమర్థించుకుంటూ ట్రంప్‌ ఈ విషయాన్ని ప్రస్తావించారు.
మన ఎన్నికల యంత్రాంగానికి అంతర్జాతీయ గుర్తింపు
దిల్లీ: భారత ఎన్నికల యంత్రాంగం విశ్వసనీయత, బలానికి అంతర్జాతీయ గుర్తింపు లభించిందని విదేశీ వ్యవహారాలశాఖ వెల్లడించింది. భారతదేశ ఓటరు గుర్తింపు కార్డు తరహాలో తమ దేశంలోనూ ఓటర్లకు పౌరసత్వ ధ్రువీకరణను చేయాల్సి ఉందని అమెరికా అధ్యక్షుడు ట్రంప్‌ వ్యాఖ్యానించిన నేపథ్యంలో ఆ శాఖ స్పందించింది. మరోవైపు.. దేశంలో దాదాపు 100 కోట్ల మందికి ఓటరు గుర్తింపు కార్డులు జారీ చేసినట్లు కేంద్ర ఎన్నికల సంఘం(ఈసీ) పేర్కొంది. ఎన్నికల సంఘం వెబ్‌సైట్‌ నుంచి ఓటర్లు తమ ఫొటో గుర్తింపు కార్డులను డౌన్‌లోడ్‌ చేసుకోవచ్చని తెలిపింది.
భారత ఎన్నికల వ్యవస్థను ప్రశంసిస్తూ అమెరికా అధ్యక్షుడు ట్రంప్‌ చేసిన వ్యాఖ్యలపై కాంగ్రెస్‌ పార్టీ వ్యంగ్యంగా స్పందించింది. ‘‘డియర్‌ డొనాల్డ్‌ ట్రంప్‌.. దయచేసి మా సీఈసీ జ్ఞానేశ్‌కుమార్‌ను అమెరికా తీసుకెళ్లండి. మా ఈవీఎంలను కూడా మరో విమానంలో పంపిస్తాం. మీరు మాకు చేసిన అవమానాలు, వేధింపులకు బదులుగా మేము చేయగలిగిన కనీస సహాయం ఇది’’ అని కాంగ్రెస్‌ అధికార ప్రతినిధి పవన్‌ ఖేడా ‘ఎక్స్‌’లో పోస్ట్‌ చేశారు.

The department responded in the wake of US President Trump's comment that citizenship verification should be done for voters in their country on the lines of India's voter identity card. On the other hand.. The Central Election Commission (EC) has said that nearly 100 crore voters have been issued voter ID cards in the country. Voters can download their photo identity cards from the Election Commission's website.
