Rs 25 lakh compensation to the families of the deceased

Today, Visakhapatnam: Based on the current situation, Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan said that there is a need to modernize Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. He spoke to reporters when he came to Visakhapatnam on Tuesday to visit the victims of the Visakhapatnam steel tragedy. He said that the government will provide Rs.25 lakh to the families of those who died in the accident and Rs.10 lakh to the injured. Pawan said that the family of each regular employee who died will get compensation of Rs.1.72 crores and Rs.45 lakhs for the contractual employee, including all kinds of benefits. "We need to see how much safety measures are being followed in the plant, what are the major problems and what level of mining is required. Pawan Kalyan said that after the examination of the three-member committee, it will have to study all aspects and take the opinions of the workers. He said that he will meet with the workers soon and get their views. He stated that he was one of those who saw that the steel plant in the state should be saved from privatisation, and under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, he is continuing to do so. 

Safety measures are important

''If you ask if the accident that happened in the steel plant has happened anywhere else, it is the first time in the last 36 years. A similar plant is located in Bhilai. Elsewhere, those are somewhat modern. The administration says that despite some incidents in China and France, the steel liquid carrying bucket did not explode. The owners should be vigilant and ensure that such accidents do not recur. It is worrisome that frequent accidents occur in factories in Visakha, Anakapalli and Paravada areas. The authorities should ensure that the owners conduct safety audit from time to time. Some say there have been some security breaches at the steel plant as well. All of them will go to the committee. Pawan Kalyan suggested that it is good for the owners of chemical industries to conduct safety inspections ten times.
