Penukonda: Tragedy took place in Sri Sathyasai district. Five women lost their lives due to accidental drowning in Gollapalli reservoir of Penukonda mandal. Gayatri (50) from Dargapet, along with her daughter Ashwini and neighborhood friends Pushpa, Haseena and Mahin went to visit the reservoir on Friday. After the midday meal, they went down in the reservoir for fun and accidentally drowned. With the help of locals, the family members brought the dead bodies to the shore. On receiving the information, the Penukonda police reached the spot and are investigating. Gayatri's daughter Ashwini got married recently. She lives in Bangalore with her husband. Due to the Dussehra holidays, it came to the birth place. At the same time, family members and villagers are in tears as this tragedy took place.
