Will they kill people?' It means that we can rise in life only when we overcome any problems. 45-year-old Kajal Bai has proved the same thing with her success. She learned to walk with the help of crutches after contracting polio just one and a half years after her birth. When she grew up, she lost her father and took the responsibility of the family on her shoulders. Believing that studying will sustain her in all these difficulties, she entered the field of diamond jewelery with this self-confidence. Even though all the people in her team are men... she has no previous experience in this field... she tried to improve herself. This dedication is what makes her stand out now. Recently, Kajal was in the news for receiving the 'Unnati Woman Artisan Excellence Award' presented by the 'Gem Export Promotion Board'. In this background, let's know about her journey of inspiration..
'How she pushes'..!
Kajal from Gujarat was infected with polio at the age of one and a half years. Both her legs were amputated. Many felt sorry for her condition. Others were disheartened saying, 'How can you push through life with a physical disability?' However, Kajal ignored all these and focused on her studies. I believed that higher education would make me stand out. My grandparents also encouraged me in this regard. After completing his degree in commerce with a passion for designing, he wanted to enter interior designing. In this order, I started trying for job opportunities. Many used to make fun of them saying 'who will give you a job because of your physical disability?' But I went forward with confidence that I would get a chance. It was this positivity that got her a job in a diamond jewelry company.. and she never looked back..' Antonna Kajal.. took the responsibility of her family upon her father's death. It is said that she has decided not to get married in this order.
In addition to this, if all the team members are men, it will be difficult to work with them in the beginning. However, Kajal says that she is completely focused on learning to work without paying attention to any of these things. I want to prove myself in any field! That's why even when I stepped into the field of diamond jewelry with no previous experience, I was the only woman in my team who did not take a step back. Actually till then I only heard about diamonds.. I never saw them.. I knew little about them. However, if you want to take advantage of this opportunity given by the organization. In this order, in the first two years, I learned how to make diamonds, cut them in different shapes and polish them. Then I was assigned as an engineer in the diamond planning department. Look at rough diamonds.. Which angle should be cut to increase their value and quality? How to polish? Kajal says that I have acquired deep technical skills in such matters.. Now I am taking care of these responsibilities. She has been working in this organization for the last 14 years.. Currently, she is acting as a diamond planner.. Before production, she examines the shape, quality, etc. of diamonds.
Krishi's recognition!
Not only has she grown in this career, Kajal is also encouraging fellow women to grow. She worked in a male-dominated environment when she joined the company. She is working to provide opportunities for more women in her company. Moreover.. working together with the management to create a suitable environment for that. Recognizing her efforts, the 'Jewellery Export Promotion Council' recently presented her with the 'Unnati Woman Artisan Excellence Award'. This council, which works under the auspices of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, has recently launched a program called 'Unnati - Empowering Women in Gems and Jewellery' in Surat to encourage women in the field of gems and jewellery. It is part of this that Kajal received this award and came into the news.
'Physical disabilities are not weak. They are capable of achieving anything if encouraged. Such encouragement is given to me by the company I am working for. Looking back, it seems that I have grown a lot in terms of career in these fourteen years. If I can do it, anyone can. Kajal is inspiring other women with her words.
