Today is unique in independent India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is creating a new record today by surpassing the first Prime Minister of the country, Jawaharlal Nehru. Modi is overturning Nehru's reputation as the democratically elected Prime Minister of India who has rendered tireless service for a long time. It is undoubtedly a historical milestone. Modi's tenure longer than Nehru's is not just a numerical record; It should be noted here that independent India has entered a new chapter during the Modi era.

The course of foreign politics has taken a distinct turn since May 26, 2014. Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel, Babasaheb Ambedkar, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, C.Rajagopalachari, K.M.Munshi took steps towards the desired Indianness during this period. All of them were proud of India's heritage. We hope to rebuild our ancient culture and civilization. In the economic sector, Prime Minister Modi has taken forward Rajaji's model of 'inclusive development'. Nehru followed the policy of keeping the entire economy under the control of the central government. Rajaji strongly opposed this 'command and control' model. As he suspected, Nehru's model of development led to a 'quota, permit, license raj' in the country.

    The whole world is realizing...

As for other political policies, Dr. Ambedkar made a historic statement in the closing lecture of the Constituent Assembly on November 25, 1949. He stated that 2,500 years ago Buddhist societies had parliamentary democratic features and those societies may have adopted and adopted democratic methods from the political institutions of that time. But, the rulers of independent India forced the argument that western countries are the source of our democracy on students and lawyers. And now Prime Minister Modi is saying on international platforms that India is the mother of democracy. India's ancient democratic ethics and practices are mentioned. The world is now realizing the fact that our country is not only the oldest but also the largest and most dynamic democratic country.

The complexity of elections in the country is increasing. Only 53 political parties contested the 1951-52 general elections. By 2024, 744 parties had participated in the elections. Compared to Nehru's era, people's aspirations have increased tremendously. Accomplishing them and maintaining a strong bond of trust with the people is an extraordinary achievement of PM Modi. While Nehru lost popularity towards the end of his tenure, Modi's popularity ratings remain consistently high. From the 1950s to the 1970s, many democratically elected leaders around the world remained in power for long periods. As the 21st century approaches, there is a tendency for leaders to remain in office for a short period of time. However, Modi stands as an exception to this.

It is a literal truth that no nation can grow strong and respectable without self-respect and self-respect. India has shone with great splendor and influence in the fields of civilization and culture for many centuries. After that, the poison of inferiority caused by the colonial rulers continued for a long time after independence. A minority of elites who adopted the ideas and goals of Thomas Babington Macaulay exerted pressure on the Indians. During the Nehru period, there was a kind of hesitancy and embarrassment in the upper classes towards many things related to Indianness. They looked down on those who spoke Indian languages. Ancient Indian traditions, cultural customs and symbols were ignored by foreign ideologies and methods. Because of that, self-confidence and creativity were lacking in our race. To rectify this situation, Prime Minister Modi has put Indian languages, systems, symbols and beliefs at the fore. Today our children proudly say that they are Indians. As I visited many countries, many people of Indian descent shared with me their newfound pride.

Indians should be completely free from mental colonialism by 2035, Prime Minister Modi said in a program. He called upon the people to take action at the national level to get rid of the colonial mentality rooted in Macaulay's legacy within ten years. He emphasized that India is emerging as a new development model with great self-confidence.

There is a big difference between the India that evolved in the first decade after independence and the transformation achieved in the last 12 years. During Nehru's era, India yearned for the help and approval of the West culturally and economically. Under Modi's regime, there was a belief that the Indian economy could survive the most serious international challenges and obstacles and progress. Here we have to tell about a boy who is a relative of ours. He is young in age but knows many things. He said a word to reflect his maturity and the thoughts of his generation. If you grow up in Nehru's India, you grow up in Modi's India.
