Saudi Arabia: E-salary system now mandatory for domestic workers in Saudi

Internet Desk: Saudi Arabia ( Saudi Arabia) The government has announced that e-salary for domestic workers is mandatory from January 1, 2026. Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Human Resources has revealed that as part of measures to improve wage protection, increase transparency and streamline employment processes, it is mandatory for all types of domestic workers to receive salaries through electronic means.
As part of the new payment system, the Ministry of Human Resources has suggested that instead of paying the salary to domestic workers in cash, they should transfer money using recognized banks or digital wallets (e-salary for domestic workers). Based on these payment documents, it will be possible to terminate the workers' contracts before the time is up, among other things, it said. If workers do not want electronic payments, they can pay their salaries in cash or check with proper documentation, it said.
