Bejjanki: Unable to bear the pain of debt, a couple committed suicide by drinking pesticides in Bejjanki mandal center of Siddipet district on Sunday. According to the information of locals, Vadlakonda Sriharsha (32) and Rukmini (25) of Dacharam village are a couple. They have a three-year-old daughter Haripriya. They are getting employment by running a clothing shop in Bejjanki mandal center for two years. He lives there in a rented room. Along with running the shop, Sriharsha went into debt to support the family. He acted as an intermediary for others and gave loans to others. He suffered mental stress due to the harassment from the lenders for a few days.
Sriharsha and Rukmini tried to commit suicide by drinking pesticide in a rented room on Sunday morning. The daughter Haripriya screamed as her parents did not know what had happened as she fell unconscious. The owner of the house noticed the noise coming from the room and informed the police and family members. When he broke the door of the house and went inside, he found Rukmini already dead. Sriharsha, who was gasping for breath, and Haripriya, who appeared to have drunk pesticide, were rushed to Siddipet Government Hospital. Sriharsha died on the way while being taken to Karimnagar for better treatment. Haripriya is being treated at Siddipet Government Hospital. At present the condition of the child is critical.
The bodies of Rukmini and Sriharsha were shifted to Karimnagar Government Hospital for post-mortem. The suicide incident of the couple has created a stir locally. Siddipet Rural CI Srinu and SI Saujanya conducted an investigation on this. The police seized the letter written by Sriharsha before committing suicide. Along with the names of many people who are harassing and harassing, at the end the letters written saying mom, dad, brother, aunt, sorry..
