Today, Hyderabad: India's first fully automated multi-storey parking complex is ready. It has been built with a public-private partnership in Nampally on 15 floors to automatically park 250 cars using German technology with robotic platforms. With the opening of a two-screen multiplex with the movie 'Avatar-3' in this building from Friday, parking has also officially started. Organizers said that the CM will officially launch it soon. Messrs. Infra Private Limited has built this parking complex named Novam with an investment of Rs.102 crores in PPP mode on half an acre land belonging to Metro at Nampally intersection. It is a 50 year lease agreement. Out of 15 floors, three basements and seven upper floors, ten floors have been allocated for parking. The remaining five floors will house the commercial complex. It has two multiplexes, one with 180 seats and the other with 130 seats. At present, there is no human intervention except where the parking ticket is issued. It is operated in a completely robotic manner.
On the way back..
- The transporter shuttle will automatically pick up the car and hand it over to the car upon presenting the parking ticket to the card reader at the terminal gate. There is no need to reverse the car. Organizers say it will take less than a minute for parking and two minutes to get back. Adequate space has not been allotted for their parking. Parking for two-wheelers is limited. They are charging Rs.10 per hour.
Four terminals have been set up for parking vehicles in basement-1. At the beginning of the building there is a way from outside into Basement-1. The gates there are sensor operated. They open automatically when the vehicle arrives. Parking ticket can be taken here. They are charging Rs.30 per hour per car.
As soon as the terminal gate opens, the car should be parked on the round table in the entry bay and the driver should come out with a handlock. Then the outer gate closes and the inner gate opens.
The vehicle is taken to the designated floor by the lift and parked in the vacant lot.
