In the picture, a fast food center using cooking gas is located in the district center. Here, instead of a commercial cylinder, a domestic rock is being openly used. This is the situation not only in this place but in most parts of the joint district.

Suryapet Collectorate, Newstoday: Cooking gas to be used for domestic purposes is being diverted. In towns and villages, some brokers and agencies are involved in illegal activities. They are being used freely in more than 70 percent of the hotels in the joint district. Although the rules say that commercial cylinders must be used in hotels, tiffin centers and fast food centers, they are not implemented anywhere.

  • There are many agencies to provide gas cylinders in the joint district. Within these, there are more than 12.10 lakh lamp, light and private gas connections. Each family is provided Rs.925 worth of 14.2 kg rock for a period of one to two months. The price of a commercial cylinder is Rs.19 kg which is over Rs.1820. As a result, low-cost household cylinders are being used for trade. There are people like this in every village. Those who supply cylinders are standing up to them. Gas books are collected from families who use one cylinder every two months, they book one cylinder per month and take Rs.300-400 extra to the hotels and make money. It is reported that each illegal person has 10 to 20 books.
  • Though this whole affair is going on arbitrarily.. there is no control due to the lack of inspection by the authorities which should be established. Only commercial cylinders should be used in fast food centers. We will check soon. In case of violation of the rules, cases will be registered against the respective managers and action will be taken against the supplying agencies.
