ఒంగోలు నేరవిభాగం, న్యూస్‌టుడే: ఇంటి యజమానితో స్నేహంగా నటిస్తూ, ఆమె బాగోగులు చూసుకుంటూ అదనుచూసి ఆమెను ఏమార్చి భారీగా బంగారు ఆభరణాలు, వెండి వస్తువులను చోరీచేసిన ఘటనలో నిందితులైన భార్యాభర్తల్ని ఒంగోలు పోలీసులు అరెస్టు చేశారు. జిల్లా పోలీసు కార్యాలయంలో మంగళవారం ఏర్పాటుచేసిన విలేకరుల సమావేశంలో ఎస్పీ వి.హర్షవర్ధన్‌రాజు వివరాలను వెల్లడించారు. స్థానిక దేవుడిచెరువులో వేలాయుధం రమణమ్మ అనే 66 ఏళ్ల వృద్ధురాలు ఒంటరిగా నివసిస్తుంటారు. ఆ ఇంటి కింది పోర్షన్‌లో బండారు వెంకటనారాయణ వరప్రసాద్, ఉప్పుతోళ్ల మహాలక్ష్మి అనే భార్యాభర్తలు అద్దెకు ఉంటారు. వీరిద్దరూ రమణమ్మతో అత్యంత సన్నిహితంగా మెలుగుతూ ఆమె బాగోగులు చూస్తుండేవారు. ఈ క్రమంలో చిత్తూరులో ఉండే రమణమ్మ కుమార్తె ఇటీవల తన బంగారు ఆభరణాలను బ్యాంకు లాకరులో పెట్టే నిమిత్తం ఒంగోలు తీసుకువచ్చి తన తల్లి వద్ద ఉంచారు. ఈ విషయం తెలుసుకున్న భార్యాభర్తలు వృద్ధురాలిని ఏమార్చి టిఫిన్‌ కోసం, ప్రసాదం కోసం కిందికి పిలిచేవారు.

ఆ సమయంలో వరప్రసాద్‌ ఆమెకు కబుర్లు చెబుతుండగా ఏదో ఒకపని మీద బయటకు వెళ్తున్నాననే మిషతో మహాలక్ష్మి, రమణమ్మ నివాసంలోకి వెళ్లి బీరువాలో ఉన్న ఆభరణాలను అపహరించేది. తన ఇంట్లో ఆభరణాలు మాయమైనట్లు గుర్తించిన రమణమ్మ గత నెల 24వ తేదీన ఒంగోలు ఒకటో పట్టణ పోలీసులకు ఫిర్యాదు చేశారు. పోలీసులు దర్యాప్తు చేపట్టగా.. కింది ఇంట్లో ఉన్న భార్యాభర్తలే ఈ నేరానికి పాల్పడినట్లు గుర్తించారు. తన తల్లి మూడేళ్ల క్రితం మరణించిందని, అప్పట్లో చేసిన అప్పులతో బాధపడుతూ ఈ నేరానికి పాల్పడినట్లు వరప్రసాద్‌ అంగీకరించాడు.

ఈ కేసులో భార్యాభర్తల్ని అరెస్టుచేసి రూ.24.50 లక్షల విలువైన 175 గ్రాముల బంగారు ఆభరణాలు, రూ.రెండు లక్షల విలువైన 850 గ్రాముల వెండి వస్తువులను స్వాధీనం చేసుకున్నట్లు ఎస్పీ పేర్కొన్నారు. డీఎస్పీ రాయపాటి శ్రీనివాసరావు పర్యవేక్షణలో ఈ కేసు ఛేదనలో క్రియాశీలకంగా పనిచేసిన ఒకటో పట్టణ సీఐ కె.వెంకటేశ్వరరావు, సీసీఎస్‌ ఇన్‌స్పెక్టర్‌ కె.కమలాకర్‌లను ఎస్పీ ప్రత్యేకంగా అభినందించి రివార్డులు అందజేశారు.

In this order, Ramanamma's daughter, who is in Chittoor, recently brought her gold ornaments to the bank locker and kept them with her mother. When the husband and wife came to know about this, they called the old lady downstairs for tiffin and prasadam.

While Varaprasad was chatting with her, Mahalakshmi, thinking that she was going out on some errand, entered Ramanamma's residence and stole the jewels from the beer. On 24th of last month, Ramanamma lodged a complaint with Ongolu Okato town police when she noticed that the jewelery was missing from her house. When the police investigated, it was found that the husband and wife in the lower house were guilty of this crime. Varaprasad admitted that his mother had died three years ago and he committed the crime because of the debts he had incurred at that time.

In this case, the husband and wife were arrested and 175 grams of gold jewelery worth Rs 24.50 lakh and 850 grams of silver worth Rs 2 lakh were seized by the SP. The SP specially congratulated the city CI K.Venkateswara Rao and CCS Inspector K.Kamalakar who worked actively in solving this case under the supervision of DSP Rayapati Srinivasa Rao.
