An awareness and training program was organized for the farmers on Saturday at Kondailpally on the precautions to be taken after harvesting chillies. The opinions of the farmers were asked about the precautions to be taken after harvesting the chillies. He asked to link employment guarantee scheme to overcome the labor problem in chilli cultivation and prevent exploitation in the market. On this occasion, the MLA said that excessive use of chemical fertilizers will damage the soil. Collector Dr. Satyasarada said that if the quality standards prescribed by the scientists are followed then the pepper will fetch a good price in the market. Dr. Rajakumar, Scientist, Regional Agricultural Research Station, explained the quality standards required for foreign exports, precautions to be taken while drying chillies, and comprehensive management practices to be followed for high yield.
