‘‘విజయవంతమైన భారత్.. ప్రపంచాన్ని మరింత సుస్థిరంగా, సుసంపన్నంగా, సురక్షితంగా మారుస్తుంది. దీంతో అందరూ ప్రయోజనం పొందుతారు’’ అని ఉర్సులా వ్యాఖ్యానించారు. యురోపియన్ కౌన్సిల్ అధ్యక్షుడు ఆంటోనియో కోస్టాతో కలిసి ఉర్సులా ఈ ఏడాది గణతంత్ర వేడుకల్లో ముఖ్యఅతిథులుగా పాల్గొన్న విషయం తెలిసిందే. ఐరోపా సమాఖ్య (European Union)కు చెందిన అగ్రనేతలు భారత రిపబ్లిక్ డే వేడుకలకు ముఖ్య అతిథులుగా హాజరవడం ఇదే మొదటిసారి.
ఈయూ నేతలు తమ ఉన్నత స్థాయి ప్రతినిధి బృందంతో కలిసి మంగళవారం ప్రధాని మోదీ ( Narendra Modi)తో చర్చలు జరపనున్నారు. చరిత్రాత్మక స్వేచ్ఛా వాణిజ్య ఒప్పందం కుదుర్చుకునే దిశగా భారత్- ఈయూలు పయనిస్తున్నట్లు ఉర్సులా ఇటీవల దావోస్ వేదికగా వెల్లడించారు. ఈ ఒప్పందంతో కోట్లాదిమంది ప్రజలకు ప్రయోజనం కలుగుతుందని, ప్రపంచ జీడీపీలో ఇది 25 శాతానికి సమానమని తెలిపారు.

అమెరికా అధ్యక్షుడు డొనాల్డ్ ట్రంప్ భారత్కు గణతంత్ర దినోత్సవ శుభాకాంక్షలు తెలిపారు. ఈమేరకు భారత్లోని అమెరికా రాయబార కార్యాలయం ఎక్స్లో పోస్ట్ చేసింది. ‘‘గణతంత్ర దినోత్సవం సందర్భంగా భారత ప్రభుత్వానికి, ప్రజలకు అమెరికా తరఫున హృదయపూర్వక అభినందనలు. ప్రపంచంలో పురాతన, అతిపెద్ద ప్రజాస్వామ్య దేశాలుగా అమెరికా, భారత్లు చారిత్రక బంధాన్ని కలిగి ఉన్నాయి’’ అని ట్రంప్ పేర్కొన్నట్లు యూఎస్ ఎంబసీ తెలిపింది.
