రాయచోటి: అన్నమయ్య జిల్లా రాయచోటి పట్టణంలోని గాలివీడు రింగ్రోడ్డు కూడలిలో శుక్రవారం మధ్యాహ్నం ఘోర రోడ్డు ప్రమాదం జరిగింది. మదనపల్లి నుంచి కడపవైపు వెళుతున్న కంటైనర్ వాహనం ఎదురుగా వస్తున్న ద్విచక్ర వాహనాన్ని వేగంగా ఢీకొంది. ఈ ప్రమాదంలో కంటైనర్ ముందు భాగంలో ద్విచక్ర వాహనం ఇరుక్కు పోయి.. 20 మీటర్ల దూరం ఈడ్చుకెళ్లింది. ద్విచక్ర వాహనం పెట్రోల్ ట్యాంక్ పగిలి కంటైనర్ వాహనానికి మంటలు అంటుకున్నాయి. ద్విచక్ర వాహనంపై వెళుతున్న శ్రీనివాసులు (48) అక్కడికక్కడే మృతి చెందారు.
సమాచారం తెలుసుకున్న అగ్నిమాపక సిబ్బంది, పోలీసులు ఘటనా స్థలికి చేరుకుని మంటలు ఆర్పివేశారు. ఐరన్ లోడ్తో వెళుతున్న కంటైనర్ ముందు భాగం పూర్తిగా కాలిపోయింది. ఇటీవల కర్నూలులో జరిగిన బస్సు ప్రమాద ఘటన తరహాలోనే ఈ ప్రమాదం చోటు చేసుకుందని స్థానికులు తెలిపారు. మృతి చెందిన శ్రీనివాసులు.. స్వస్థలం రాయచోటి మండలం కంచరపల్లెగా పోలీసులు గుర్తించారు. మృతుడి భార్య ఉపాధి కోసం గల్ఫ్ వెళ్లింది. ముగ్గురు పిల్లలతో కలిసి జీవనం సాగిస్తున్న శ్రీనివాసులు దుర్మరణం కుటుంబీకులను విషాదంలోకి నెట్టింది. ప్రమాద ఘటనపై పట్టణ ట్రాఫిక్ పోలీసులు కేసు నమోదు చేసి దర్యాప్తు చేస్తున్నట్లు సీఐ తెలిపారు.

Rayachoti: A fatal road accident took place on Friday afternoon at Galiveedu ring road intersection in Rayachoti town of Annamaiya district. A container vehicle traveling from Madanapally towards Kadapa collided with the oncoming two-wheeler at high speed. In this accident, the two-wheeler got stuck in front of the container and was dragged for 20 meters. The petrol tank of the two-wheeler burst and the container vehicle caught fire. Srinivas (48), who was riding a two-wheeler, died on the spot.
Firefighters and police reached the spot after getting the information and extinguished the fire. The front of the container carrying the iron load was completely burnt.
