USA: lightning attack on Venezuela

Caracas: The South American country of Venezuela was attacked by the United States like thunder without thunder on Saturday morning. The capital Caracas shook with these unexpected attacks. American warplanes circled the capital's airspace. People ran out fearing the explosions. Smoke and darkness engulfed military bases. Darkness prevailed in many parts of the city. US forces attacked key military bases in Caracas such as La Carlota Airfield, Puerto Leuna Military Base, La Guaira Port etc. President Nicolás Maduro and his wife Celia Flores were captured by the American army and taken to New York while the country was waking up. But before that, Maduro imposed a state of emergency in the country. 

On the other hand, it is not clear who has taken over the duties of the President of the country. Vice presidents become presidents under Venezuelan law. But Delsey Rodrigues, who is the vice president, has not announced that she has taken over. 

Without prior permission..

Details of the attacks on Venezuela were announced by US President Donald Trump through his own social media platform 'Truth' after 4.30 am on Saturday morning. But he did not take prior permission from Congress for these attacks. The process started on Saturday. The Venezuelan government announced that there were several explosions in the capital, Caracas, and low-altitude planes circled, immediately after which the US launched attacks on civilians and military bases. It was an attack by US imperialism and people were asked to take to the streets and organize protests. While some countries have condemned America's attack on Venezuela, others have offered to mediate. Others are justified. The attack was condemned by the left parties of our country like CPM, CPI and CPI (ML) Liberation. 

• Maduro took over as president in 2013 after the death of Hugo Chavez. Elected again in 2018. However, as the opposition parties were banned from contesting, the election was severely criticized. 
• It is noteworthy that after 36 years of attacking Panama in 1990 and taking the then president Manuel Antonio Noriega hostage, this is the second attack by America on a South American country. 

Explosions in seven places

Explosions took place in seven places in the early hours of the morning in Caracas. People came to the streets in fear. It is not known whether anyone died in these attacks. The attacks continued for about 30 minutes. After the attacks, soldiers and civilian militia members took to the streets in the ruling party's stronghold on the outskirts of Caracas. The streets in the rest of the area looked deserted. Electricity supply has stopped in many parts of the city. But the vehicles moved as usual.

Scenes of smoke on one military base and another military base in darkness were broadcasted on social media.

State of emergency

President Maduro declared a 'state of emergency from external forces' and ordered the implementation of all defense plans, according to a statement released by the Venezuelan government. It said that during the imposition of a state of emergency, the rights of citizens will be suspended and all powers will be bound to the President. It explained that the scope of the military forces will be further expanded. 

• Rodrigues demanded to reveal where Maduro and his wife were taken. They were asked to show evidence that they were alive. 
• Maduro last appeared on TV on Friday. Met the Chinese team in Caracas.
• Venezuelan Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino condemned the attacks. It was described as an imperialist attack. Citizens are called to resist foreign forces for the defense of the country.
• A protest demonstration was held under the leadership of Caracas Mayor Carmen to send Maduro back.

Trial in New York

Maduro and his wife Celia will be tried in the courts of New York according to American laws, Pam Bondi said. Maduro was indicted by the US in 2020 for plotting 'narco-terrorism'. Recently the same cases were filed.  

'Locked from the bedroom'

It seems that the American forces that attacked Venezuela caught the Maduro couple in the house of the military base and locked them from the bedroom. Reliable sources said that the American forces attacked them at midnight while they were sleeping. They were picked up by the American warship Iwo Jima. It left for New York. 

America's Delta Force participated in the attack on Venezuela and the operation that took President Maduro hostage. A few days ago, President Trump gave the green signal to arrest Maduro. The responsibilities of finding out his whereabouts have been entrusted to the CIA. 

Conspiracy for oil reserves: Maduro

'What America needs is not drug control. Their real goal is to get access to the vast oil reserves in Venezuela. That is why they are trying to topple my government. Although I am ready to negotiate with the US for the drug ban. But instead of negotiating, they are going to war. In an interview on Thursday, Maduro clarified that the massive deployment of troops in the Caribbean Sea in August is part of this. As he said, the US attacked.

Who is responsible?

In the background of President Maduro being held hostage by the US, it is not clear who will take over the presidency of Venezuela. Home Minister Diosdado Cabella and Defense Minister Padrino are also in the race along with Vice President Delsey Rodrigues. A few hours after the attacks, the three appeared on TV channels. Among them, Padrino and Cabello are involved in the military.

In fact, the United States has been pressuring Maduro's government for the past few months to stop the supply of drugs. At the same time, the United States is deploying troops in the waters of the East Pacific and the Caribbean. Venezuela has attacked ships several times in recent times. Last week, it launched raids on a docking area that supports drug smugglers. On Saturday alone, it hit the country. 

• A total of 35 ships were attacked by the US as of Friday. 115 people died in it. 
• Colombia is on alert in the wake of attacks on Venezuela. Colombia has deployed its forces on the borders of the two countries. Almost 2,000 km border is between these two countries. In the wake of the attack on Caracas, the government has become alarmed because of the possibility of massive influx of refugees.
