ఢిల్లీ క్యాపిటల్స్‌కు కొత్త కెప్టెన్లు..?

IPL, Social media is buzzing that Delhi Capitals will change their captains in WPL. It is reported that KL Rahul will replace Akshar Patel in IPL. Jemima Rodrigues will replace Meg Lanning in WPL as DC captaincy. It is known that these changes will come into effect from the beginning of the 2026 season. Even though the DC management has not officially announced the change of captains, there will be a lot of publicity in the IPL circles.

In the last IPL season, DC could not perform as expected under the leadership of Akshar Patel. In fact, even though KL Rahul was selected as the captain last season, it was rumored that he did not express his willingness. It is reported that the management has put pressure on Rahul to take the responsibilities of captaincy anyway. Led by Akshar Patel, DC won half of their 14 matches last season but narrowly missed out on the play-offs (fifth place). It is reported that the change of captain is part of the intention to reach the play-offs in the coming season anyway.

As for WPL.. Last season, DC showed excellent performances and reached the final, but lost to Mumbai Indians by a narrow margin in the final battle and once again settled with the runner-up. Although there is no need for a change of captain in WPL.. It is known that the DC management intends to hand over the captaincy to Jemima Rodrigues with the intention of having a local player as the captain. 

It is reported that current captain Meg Lanning will be replaced in this order. It is known that Jemima's World Cup performances were also taken as a yardstick for selection. Jemima performed brilliantly in the recently concluded ODI World Cup and played a major role in Team India winning the title. Especially Jemima's super century in the semis against the Aussies will go down in history.
