ఇంటర్నెట్ డెస్క్: మోసపూరిత చర్యలకు పాల్పడేవారిపై కఠినంగా వ్యవహరించేందుకు సింగపూర్ (Singapore) సిద్ధమవుతోంది. స్కామర్లు, వారిని నియమించుకునేవారు, ఆయా ముఠాల్లో ఉన్న వ్యక్తులను శిక్షగా కొరడా దెబ్బలు విధించనుంది. ఇందుకు సంబంధించిన చట్టంలో ఇటీవల మార్పులు చేయగా.. డిసెంబర్ 30 నుంచి ఇది అమల్లోకి రానుంది.
దేశంలో మోసపూరిత కార్యకలాపాలు పెరుగుతున్న నేపథ్యంలో వీటిని అరికట్టేందుకు నిబంధనల్లో మార్పులు చేసినట్లు సింగపూర్ హోంమంత్రిత్వశాఖ వెల్లడించింది. స్కామ్లను ఎదుర్కోవడం జాతీయ స్థాయిలో అత్యంత ప్రాధాన్యం కలిగిన అంశమని, ఇటువంటి కేసులు, వీటివల్ల కలిగే ఆర్థిక నష్టాలు ఆందోళనకర స్థాయిలో ఉన్నాయని పేర్కొంది. స్కామర్లకు శిక్షగా కనీసం ఆరు కొరడా దెబ్బలు విధించనున్నట్లు తెలిపింది.
సిమ్ కార్డులు సమకూర్చడం లేదా సింగ్పాస్ ఐడీ (ప్రభుత్వ సేవలను ఉపయోగించుకునేందుకు సింగపూర్ పౌరులకు ఇచ్చే డిజిటల్ ఐడీ)లను స్కామర్లతో పంచుకునేవారికి 12 కొరడా దెబ్బలు విధించే అవకాశం ఉంది. తీవ్రతను బట్టి ఆయా మోసాలకు పాల్పడే వారికి గరిష్ఠంగా 24 కొరడా దెబ్బలు విధించనున్నట్లు తెలుస్తోంది.
నేరాల నియంత్రణలో భాగంగా క్రిమినల్ చట్టంలో సింగపూర్ ఇటీవల మార్పులు తీసుకొచ్చింది. దీనికి అక్కడి పార్లమెంట్ గత నెల ఆమోదం తెలిపింది. మోసపూరిత కార్యకలాపాలకు సంబంధించి 2020 నుంచి ఈ ఏడాది జూన్ వరకు దాదాపు 1.90లక్షల కేసులు నమోదైనట్లు అంచనా. వీటివల్ల దాదాపు 2.8 మిలియన్ డాలర్ల నష్టం వాటిల్లినట్లు స్థానిక మీడియా కథనాలు పేర్కొన్నాయి. సింగపూర్లో నమోదవుతున్న నేరం కేసుల్లో మోసాలకు సంబంధించినవే 60 శాతం ఉంటున్నట్లు తెలుస్తోంది.

The Ministry of Home Affairs of Singapore has revealed that changes have been made in the regulations to curb fraudulent activities in the country. Those who provide SIM cards or share SingPass IDs (digital IDs given to Singaporeans to use government services) with scammers are likely to receive 12 lashes. Depending on the severity, it seems that the maximum 24 lashes will be imposed on those who commit fraud.
Singapore has recently brought changes in the criminal law as part of crime control. The parliament there approved it last month. It is estimated that around 1.90 lakh cases have been registered from 2020 to June this year in relation to fraudulent activities. Local media reported that the damage was about 2.8 million dollars. It seems that 60 percent of the crime cases recorded in Singapore are related to fraud.
