Hyderabad: Central Election Commission Chief Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar said that BLVs have successfully conducted Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Bihar and set a path for the country. Said. He clarified that the same process is going to be implemented in Telangana. The Chief Commissioner of the Central Election Commission held an interactive meeting with booth level officers at Ravindra Bharti, Hyderabad.
The Central Election Commission of India has grown to the level of guiding the world.. It has been revealed that the Central Election Commissioner will lead the international 'International Idea' organization for the next one year. He said that there are more voters in Telangana than the country of Canada and it is the responsibility of the BLOs to manage the SIR process effectively in a state with such a large number of voters. It is stated that 1.80 crore personnel are working for the conduct of elections in the country and it is the largest election machinery in the world. He said that 20 representatives from 7 countries have observed the elections in Bihar and the Indian election system has been recognized internationally.
After successful completion of SIR, a list of 7.5 crore voters has been released and not a single complaint has been received against this process, he said. He praised that there were zero complaints even in the matter of recounting after the elections and the reason for that was the efficient performance of the BLOs. He said that in Telangana there are 930 voters on an average per BLO..During SIR errors like names of dead people and double votes will come out. It is explained that SIR is necessary to correct such errors. Booth level officers are the biggest soldiers of the constitution of the country. Currently, SIR is going on in 12 states of the country and in the future it will be implemented in other states as well, he said. Gyanesh Kumar called on BLOs to make SIR a success together in Telangana.
