హైదరాబాద్: నగరంలో న్యూ ఇయర్ వేడుకల్లో ఏటా పెద్దఎత్తున డ్రగ్స్ పట్టుబడ0తాయి. ఏడాది పొడవునా జరిగే మత్తు పదార్థాల వ్యాపారంలో 80-90 శాతం డిసెంబరు-జనవరి మధ్య అవుతుందని అంచనా. ఈ నేపథ్యంలో పోలీసులు తనిఖీలు ముమ్మరం చేశారు. తెలంగాణలో డ్రగ్స్ సరఫరా చేస్తున్న ఆరుగురు డ్రగ్ పెడ్లర్లను ఈగల్ టీమ్ పోలీసులు అరెస్టు చేశారు. నిందితుల నుంచి 330 గ్రాముల గంజాయి, 3 గ్రాముల కొకైన్, 11.5 గ్రాముల MDMA స్వాధీనం చేసుకున్నారు. వరంగల్ జిల్లాలో ముగ్గురు గంజాయి సరఫరా దారులను అరెస్టు చేసి 80 గ్రాములు, మియాపూర్ పోలీస్ స్టేషన్ పరిధిలో 250 గ్రాముల గంజాయి స్వాధీనం చేసుకున్నట్టు పోలీసులు తెలిపారు. నిందితులు ఏపీ, తెలంగాణ మధ్య అంతర్రాష్ట్ర గంజాయి సరఫరాదారులుగా గుర్తించారు.
