ఈనాడు, కరీంనగర్, నిజామాబాద్, సంగారెడ్డి: సర్పంచి... ఒకప్పుడు గ్రామంలో పలుకుబడి ఉండి ప్రజాసేవ చేయాలనే తపన ఉన్న వారికి అందే గొప్ప పదవి. కాలక్రమేణా ఈ ప్రథమ పౌరుడి కుర్చీ కాసులతో వచ్చిన వారికి అందుతోంది. ఇటీవల ముగిసిన పంచాయతీ ఎన్నికల్లోనూ చాలాచోట్ల స్థిరాస్తి, ఇసుక వ్యాపారులు ఓటర్లను ప్రలోభపెట్టి ఈ పదవి అందుకున్నట్లు తెలుస్తోంది.

- ఉమ్మడి మెదక్ జిల్లాలోని రెండు వేల పైచిలుకు ఓటర్లున్న గ్రామంలో గత రెండు పర్యాయాలు పోటీచేసి ఓడిపోయిన అభ్యర్థికి ప్రజల్లో సానుభూతి ఉంది. ఈ సారి గెలుపు ఖాయమని ఊరంతా భావించారు. ముగ్గురు పోటీ చేస్తున్న ఆ గ్రామంలో అసలు గెలుస్తాడని నమ్మకం లేని వ్యక్తి అనూహ్యంగా విజయం సాధించారు. స్థిరాస్తి వ్యాపారంలో బాగా డబ్బులు సంపాదించిన అతను పోలింగ్ ముందురోజు రాత్రి ఓటుకింత ధరను నిర్ణయించి ఫలితాన్ని తనకనుకూలంగా మార్చేసుకున్నారని గ్రామంలో ప్రచారం జరుగుతోంది.

- ఉమ్మడి కరీంనగర్ జిల్లాలోనూ గోదావరి, మానేరు పరీవాహక ప్రాంతాల్లోని గ్రామాల్లో ఇసుక వ్యాపారంలో రాణించి డబ్బులు కూడగట్టుకున్నవారే సర్పంచులుగా పోటీ చేశారు. విచ్చలవిడిగా డబ్బు ఖర్చు చేయడమే కాకుండా ఏకగ్రీవాలైన కొన్ని ఊళ్లల్లో వేలం ద్వారా సర్పంచి సీటును కొనుగోలు చేశారని స్థానికులు చెబుతున్నారు.
- ఉమ్మడి నిజామాబాద్ జిల్లాలోనూ కొన్ని గ్రామాల్లో గెలిచేందుకు ఒక్కో వ్యాపారి రూ.50 లక్షల నుంచి రూ.కోటి వరకు ఖర్చు చేశారు. ఆర్మూర్ డివిజన్లోని కొన్ని పెద్ద పంచాయతీల్లో ఓటుకు రూ.3 వేల వరకు వెచ్చించారు. నందిపేట, బాల్కొండ మండలాల్లో వ్యాపారులే కొన్ని పల్లెల్లో గెలిచారు.

కేవలం డబ్బుంటే సరిపోదు. గ్రామ ప్రజలకు సేవ చేస్తారనే భరోసా ఉండాలనే విధంగానూ కొన్ని పంచాయతీల్లో ఓటర్లు తీర్పునిచ్చారు. ఉమ్మడి కరీంనగర్ జిల్లాలో 2,400 ఓటర్లున్న ఓ గ్రామంలో ఆర్థికంగా బలవంతుడు కానప్పటికీ ఓ యువకునికి పట్టం కట్టారు. ఇక్కడ ప్రత్యర్థులు విరివిగా ఖర్చుచేసినప్పటికీ ఫలితం దక్కలేదు.
