New age poet Chakravarti Joshua, Bhava Telugu literature gained historical glory with the distinguished writings and debates of poets like Krishna Shastri, the classical poet, Viswanatha Satyanarayana, Abhyudaya Yuga Mahakavi Sri Sri. During that glorious period Viswanatha Satyanarayana showed universal form with versatile works. On the occasion of Viswanatha's 50th birthday tomorrow...
VSwanatha has stepped into all kinds of Telugu literary processes. Moving with the times, they fought with the weapons of old ideas and ideologies opposed by the times. Vishwanatha was a traditionalist poet. Sri Sri wrote that it took a decade to get out of the influence of Krishna Shastri and Viswanatha. The poet of all is Viswanatha. By making us feel how ancient and advanced our language, sculpture, dance and art forms are, his poetical capsules make us emotional through Andhraprasasti and Andhrapurusham Khandakavyas. Wet the eyes, squeeze the heart.
Wonderfulness in words
Veipadagalu is a big novel with a lot of breadth, many diverse characters and depiction of ancient social life. It is a record that Vishwanatha recited this work in just 29-30 days in the range of 999 aratavas. As a novel it was a great success. He wrote Narikelapaka works and Drashapaka works. Once he said to a person who came to see him, 'I can't talk now, I'm lazy. No, even if it's in order! After the death of his wife Varalakshmi, Vishwanatha wrote a poem of 300 poems called 'Varalakshmi Trisathi' with a sad heart. Arudra said that I like this trisatha more than Ramayana Kalpavriksha. Vishwanatha, who had penetrated into Valmiki's Ramayana, performed parakaya in the roles of Ramayana and worked as penance for three decades, presented the epic poem 'Srimadramayana Kalpavriksha' to the Telugu readers. With a sharp poetic focus and emphasis on rasadhwani, it has been fashioned as a Kohinoor Vajra in traditional poetry. When he was going to recite Kalpavriksha on some of the festivals, some connoisseurs used to ask him to sing 'kinnerasani songs'. Those who saw Vishwanatha's emotions and gestures in reciting poetry, singing songs, and giving lectures are a treat! His artistic and poetic creations are more surprising.
Vishwanatha Satyanarayana was born in Nandamuru village of Krishna district on 10th September 1895 to Parvathi Devi and Sobhanadri. Chellapilla Venkata Sastri was the poet's teacher. Bandaru Andhra National College, Hindu College, Vijayawada S.R.R. Worked in CVR Colleges. Served as Principal in Karimnagar Government College. Famous people like NTR are his disciples.
Wonderful written sculptures
It is remarkable that even after the death of Vishwanatha, Kalpavriksha readings, praises and criticisms continued among some scholars. Criticisms on Vishwanatha Kalpavriksha in Bharti and Andhra newspapers became sensational. Viswanatha's novels like Chelialikatta, Ekaveera, Swargaki Nichchenalu, songs like Kinnerasani songs, Girikumaru's love songs and dramas like Nartanashala come to mind. Shatakals are like Maswami, Veerarasa Kavyala is like 'Jhansirani', deep criticism is like 'Nannayagari Prasanna Katha Kalitarthayukti' and 'Allasanivari Allika Gigibigi' come to mind. It was Kavisamrat Viswanatha who brought the first Jnanpeeth award to the Telugu people. He also served as a member of the state legislative council.
Ekaveera written by him was translated into Hindi by Ambatipudi Hanumayya and Puttaparthi into Malayalam. Veipadagalan was translated into Hindi by former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao under the name 'Sahasraphan'. There are also other translations. Received Vishwanatha Sahitya Akademi honors. Received the Padma Bhushan award. He was enthroned in the temple and garlanded in Calcutta. The legendary poet passed away on October 18, 1976. Vishwanatha was the supreme literary figure who preached language and culture to the Telugu people, wrote poetry with eloquence and left his mark on an era in his own way. His creations are incredible works of art.
