Hyderabad: In case of El Nino, the conditions are as expected by scientists. CM Revanth Reddy (Revanth Reddy) said that they are getting out of hand. He said that they are going to face serious shortage of water and electricity. He said there is a possibility of severe impact on people's daily activities. In this context, people and farmers are advised to be more vigilant. The Chief Minister spoke at a media conference after discussing the El Nino situation with the ministers. Farmers have been requested to plant only dry season crops in Yasangi.
Postpone paddy cultivation..
''At this time last year, more than 400 TMC of water was available in all the reservoirs of the state. This year there are only 209 TMCs. This water should be used sparingly. The next eight months are crucial. Everyone should be careful till the rains come again. The existing water needs to be used only for drinking purposes. The reservoirs supplying water to Hyderabad are also drying up. Farmers should be generous and postpone one paddy season. Do not plant rice in Yasangi. We are making all efforts to help farmers.
Centre should help..
Due to severe drought, electricity consumption has increased tremendously. The consumption of electricity has increased by an additional 5 thousand megawatts over the average. This level of power consumption in October has never been seen in history. We are trying to buy electricity at whatever price is available in the market. We are asking the center to provide additional electricity to the state. We are appealing to increase the subsidy on electricity. Center should support states during El Niño crisis. The share of central funds should be increased in central and state sponsored schemes.
Oppositions should come together..
We are setting up a cabinet sub-committee to solve the problem. After Dussehra, an all-party meeting will be held under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka. We have directed the officials to devise activities to get more funds from the Centre. The opposition should also come together with the government without politicizing it. We need everyone's cooperation to overcome the natural calamity. CM Revanth Reddy asked everyone to exercise restraint and not believe in false propaganda.
