Marical Crossroads: A wife who could not stomach her husband's extramarital affair with a woman commits an atrocity. She killed her husband by pouring petrol on him and setting him on fire. According to the details disclosed by DSP Nallapu Lingaiah, Telapalli Ramulamma and Balaswamy (46) of Madwar village in Marikal Mandal are a couple. They were married 28 years ago and have two sons. Balaswamy had an extra-marital affair with a woman from the same village. There have been frequent quarrels between the couple over this matter for a few days.
Ramulamma, who was fed up with the lack of change in her husband, decided to kill him. On the 24th of last month, at midnight, the petrol kept in the house for agricultural work was poured on him while he was sleeping and set on fire. Balaswamy, who was seriously injured, was first shifted to Mahabubnagar Hospital and from there to Osmania in Hyderabad for better treatment. He died on 25th of last month while undergoing treatment. As the details collected from Ramulamma, statements of witnesses and evidence raised suspicions about this incident, the police investigated in their own style. She admitted that she had committed the crime. The police have registered a case against the accused under various sections of BNS and are investigating.
