సాక్షి,న్యూఢిల్లీ:భారత్-అమెరికా ద్వైపాక్షిక వాణిజ్య ఒప్పందంలో కీలక ముందడుగు పడింది. ఒప్పందంలోని తొలి విడత ఖరారైందని కేంద్ర వాణిజ్య శాఖ మంత్రి పీయూష్ గోయల్ గురువారం వెల్లడించారు. ప్రస్తుతం దీనికి సంబంధించిన న్యాయపరమైన ముసాయిదా రూపకల్పన జరుగుతోందని, త్వరలోనే ప్రక్రియను పూర్తి చేసి అమల్లోకి తీసుకొచ్చేందుకు ప్రయత్నిస్తున్నామని తెలిపారు.
ఢిల్లీలో జరిగిన ఒక సదస్సులో గోయల్ ఈ విషయాన్ని వెల్లడించారు. భారత్‌కు పోటీ దేశాలతో పోలిస్తే మెరుగైన వాణిజ్య ప్రయోజనాలు లభించేలా ఒప్పందాన్ని ఖరారు చేయడంపై దృష్టి సారిస్తున్నట్లు ఆయన పేర్కొన్నారు.
వాణిజ్య ఒప్పందంపై చర్చలు సానుకూల దిశలో సాగుతున్నాయని కేంద్ర వాణిజ్య కార్యదర్శి రాజేశ్ అగర్వాల్ తెలిపారు. వీలైనంత త్వరగా ఒప్పందాన్ని ఖరారు చేసి సంతకాలు చేయాలని భావిస్తున్నట్లు చెప్పారు. అయితే అమెరికాలో సుంకాల విధానం ఖరారయ్యే ప్రక్రియతో పాటు ఈ ఒప్పందం కూడా ముందుకు సాగుతుందని వివరించారు.
విదేశాంగ మంత్రి జైశంకర్ సైతం భారత్-అమెరికా వాణిజ్య చర్చలు తుది దశకు చేరువవుతున్నాయని అభిప్రాయపడ్డారు. అయితే ఇతర పోటీ దేశాలతో పోలిస్తే భారత్‌కు లభించే వాణిజ్య ప్రయోజనాలు కూడా కీలకమని ఆయన పేర్కొన్నారు.
2025 ప్రారంభం నుంచి ఇరు దేశాలు ఈ ఒప్పందంపై చర్చలు జరుపుతున్నాయి. సుంకాల వివాదాలను పరిష్కరించడం, వాణిజ్య అడ్డంకులను తగ్గించడం, ఇరు దేశాల మార్కెట్లలో పరస్పర అవకాశాలను పెంచడం ఈ ఒప్పందం ప్రధాన లక్ష్యాలు.
గత ఏడాది అమెరికా అధ్యక్షుడు డొనాల్డ్‌ ట్రంప్ భారత్‌పై విధించిన అదనపు సుంకాలు, హెచ్‌-1బీ వీసా ఫీజుల పెంపు, వలస విధానాల్లో మార్పులు వంటివి ఇరు దేశాల సంబంధాలపై తీవ్ర ప్రభావం చూపాయి. ఈ నేపథ్యంలో జరగాల్సిన వాణిజ్య ఒప్పందం ఖరారైతే ఇరు దేశాల ద్వైపాక్షిక ఆర్థిక సంబంధాలకు ఊతం లభించే అవకాశం ఉంది.

Goyal disclosed this in a conference held in Delhi. He stated that the focus is on finalizing the agreement so that India gets better trade benefits compared to the competing countries. Union Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agarwal said that the negotiations on the trade agreement are moving in a positive direction. He said that he hopes to finalize and sign the agreement as soon as possible. However, it has been explained that this agreement will also move forward along with the process of finalizing the tariff policy in America.
External Affairs Minister Jaishankar also opined that the India-US trade talks are nearing the final stage. However, he stated that the trade benefits that India gets compared to other competing countries are also crucial.
Both countries are negotiating this agreement from the beginning of 2025. The main goals of this agreement are to resolve tariff disputes, reduce trade barriers, and increase mutual opportunities in the markets of both countries.
Additional tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump on India last year, increase in H-1B visa fees, and changes in immigration policies have had a severe impact on the relations between the two countries. If the trade agreement is finalized in this context, there is a possibility that the bilateral economic relations between the two countries will get a boost.
