Today, Karimnagar, Suryapet, Nizamabad, Mahbubnagar, ETV, Adilabad: To further strengthen the drinking water and underground drainage system in cities and municipalities, construction of plants for sewage treatment, Amrit 2.0 funds have been undertaken in many places across the state. There is constant delay in the works. About two and a half years ago, when the central government released the funds, these works were taken up in the towns along with the state government's share. In 2023, various types of work have been identified, divided into packages. Plans have been prepared to take up the construction of new pipelines and tanks in view of the increasing population and drinking water supply in the merged villages. Actually all this should be completed by the end of March this year. In many places there is no progress as expected. While in some places the delay is happening due to the negligence of the monopolists, in other places the acquisition of land has become a major obstacle. But due to the delay in the tenders of works in some places, these can be completed by June this year. Monitoring should be increased so that all the works are completed by monsoon season. As the ruling classes in the town and city governments have increased, there is a need to pay proper attention to them.

Informatively..

  • In Adilabad Municipality, funds have been allocated for the underground drainage system, but there are works here in an insurmountable manner. Rs.225 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of sewage treatment plants (STPs) at two other places including Khanapur and Mahalakshmi Wada. These works are not progressing due to lack of proper space. In many parts of the city, the problem of flooding is more due to the onset of monsoon.
  • 48 percent works have been completed in the municipalities of Khammam and Nalgonda districts. Recently the speed has been increased as the deadline is only a month. Rs.1,758 crore has been sanctioned for the works under these two joint districts. But there is a problem due to the problem of land acquisition for the construction of STPs. STPs with a capacity of 40 million liters per day (MLD) in Khammam and 40 MLD in Nalgonda have not been given land, so their work has not yet started. 90 percent of the 65 km long pipeline has been completed. The works of tanks of 400 kiloliters at Teachers Colony, Idga and 600 kiloliters at Santa Bazaar are still going on at a slow pace.
  • Karimnagar Corporation has received Rs.132 crores but still has to undertake works in the merged colonies. Jagityala district got Rs.138 crores but many places did not work.
Due to the digging of internal roads in the town for drinking water pipeline works, people are facing difficulties in commuting. On the other hand, one of the two overhead tanks in Janagama town is 50 percent full. The other place is still in search. Overhead tank works of 80 lakh liters capacity in Narsampet are 75 percent complete in 20 km. 9 to 10 km for the pipeline. Completed.

This is the condition of the drinking water pipeline on the way to Ekhinpur, which was undertaken with Amrit funds in Korutla Municipality of Jagitial district. It has been like this for two months. The total distance is 46 km. It has been decided to lay a pipeline of 10 km so far. Just finished.

It has been incomplete for the past 6 months. All the works undertaken in the joint Nizamabad district with a cost of Rs.795 crores are seen like this. 22 tanks were to be constructed in Kamareddy district, out of which only three have been completed. 10,000 manholes were to be repaired in the Nizamabad Municipal Corporation, but only more than 700 have been completed. on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram& Google News.
