ఇంటర్నెట్ డెస్క్: యూకేలో కొత్త డిజిటల్ వీసా (visa) వ్యవస్థ నేటి నుంచి అమల్లోకి వచ్చింది. సంప్రదాయ వీసాల స్థానంలో ఈ-వీసా (Electronic visa)లను అందుబాటులోకి తెచ్చారు. యూకేకు వెళ్లే భారతీయులు ఇకమీదట ఈ-వీసా కోసం దరఖాస్తు చేసుకోవాల్సి ఉంటుంది. ఇందులో ఇమిగ్రేషన్ స్టేటస్కు సంబంధించిన షేర్ కోడ్ ఉంటుంది. దీన్ని ఉద్యోగ సంస్థలు, యజమానులు తదితరులతో పంచుకునే అవకాశం కల్పించారు.
ఈ కొత్త పద్ధతిలో పేపర్ ఆధారిత వీసా స్టిక్కర్ల స్థానంలో డిజిటల్ వీసాలను అమలు చేయనున్నారు. డిజిటల్ వ్యవస్థ అయినప్పటికీ.. బయోమెట్రిక్ నమోదు కోసం వీసాదారులు దరఖాస్తు కేంద్రానికి వెళ్లాల్సిందే. అయితే, ప్రాసెసింగ్ సమయంలో పాస్పోర్టును అక్కడే వదిలి వెళ్లాల్సిన అవసరం మాత్రం ఉండదు. ఈ-వీసా లేదా ఇతర దస్త్రాలు లేకుంటే విమానయాన సంస్థలు ప్రయాణికులను అడ్డుకునే అవకాశం ఉంటుంది.
ఈ-వీసాను పోగొట్టుకోవడం, తస్కరించడం లేదా మార్పు చేసే అవకాశం ఉండదని, వీసాదారులు ఇమిగ్రేషన్ను వేగంగా, సురక్షితంగా నిర్ధరించుకునే వీలుకలుగుతుందని బ్రిటన్ అధికారులు పేర్కొన్నారు. ప్రస్తుత ఇమిగ్రేషన్ స్థితిలో మార్పులు చేయడం కూడా సాధ్యం కాదన్నారు. బ్రిటన్ సరిహద్దు, ఇమిగ్రేషన్ వ్యవస్థను పూర్తి స్థాయిలో నవీకరించడంలో భాగంగా ఈ-వీసా విధానాన్ని గతేడాది ప్రారంభించారు. నేటి నుంచి పూర్తి స్థాయిలో అమల్లోకి వచ్చింది.
