Exams are pass and fail calculations, not life and death calculations... daily Parents' expectations, teachers' targets... are changing the student's brain like a pressure cooker. The result.. sleepless nights, fears of the unknown. But 'examination is just a game... if you have a proper plan you can beat the pressure and achieve success' says Dr. Manasa, a psychiatrist in Tirupati Rua. Here are the instructions that students and parents should follow immediately in order to excel in the exams..

Currently, about 30 to 40 percent of children between the ages of 14 to 18 (from class nine to inter) are suffering from severe anxiety. The main reason for this is the realistic goals set by parents and teachers. The words 'You have to get a rank.. otherwise it's a waste' are mentally depressing the children. Due to this, children are afraid of exams. Problems such as heart palpitations and forgetting what has been read are being faced on entering the exam room. It is the parents who have to change this trend...

7Day- Rule:It is not about studying for hours for exams.. it is important to study 'smart'. With proper planning and strategy one can easily reach success. No one can follow a two-month time table at once. Schedule just one week (Monday to Saturday). Choose a difficult subject (Maths or Science) out of it. Once that target is completed.. plan for the next week..

Sleep is your strength:If you study for the whole year and don't sleep the day before the exam, your brain will bark. At least 7-8 hours of sleep is mandatory. Our brain repairs itself during sleep.

Pomidaro Technique:Do not read for hours.. if you read for 25 minutes.. take a 5 minute break. After reading for a long time, take a break for 15 to 20 minutes. This leads to longer concentration.

A way to remember:There is a technique for those who fear 'I can't remember'. Put what you have read on paper in the form of a flow-chart or in the form of key points. Unlike watching a movie, if you write and read it, it will be stored in the brain.

If children want to win in exams.. the atmosphere at home should be good first. Parents should encourage them to increase their morale.

Don't ask that question:When you come home in the evening, don't ask 'how many lessons have you studied today'. How was school today? Did you play with your friends? Have you eaten?'. This gives them the assurance that 'I am more important than my studies to my parents'.

Don't compare:Don't compare yourself with the kids next door. Remember that every student is unique.

Win in life:Marks do not decide life. They work only for a seat, not to win in life. It doesn't matter if you fail, you can write again. Give that courage to your children.. Let them push without defeat.. That courage will make them winners.
