ఇంటర్నెట్ డెస్క్: ఎడారి దేశమైన యునైటెడ్ అరబ్ ఎమిరేట్స్ ( UAE)లోని అనేక ప్రాంతాల్లో భారీ వర్షాలు కురుస్తున్నాయి. అబుదాబీ, దుబాయ్ సహా అనేక నగరాల్లో కొన్ని గంటలపాటు జనజీవనం స్తంభించిపోయింది. అనేకచోట్ల రోడ్లు జలమయమయ్యాయి. ట్రాఫిక్కు అంతరాయం కలగడంతోపాటు శుక్రవారం పలు విమాన సర్వీసులకు ఆలస్యం ఏర్పడింది. హాలీడే సీజన్కు సిద్ధమవుతున్న వేళ భారీ వర్షాలు కురుస్తుండడంతో స్థానిక ప్రభుత్వాలు అప్రమత్తమయ్యాయి.
అబుదాబీ, దుబాయ్లలో కురిసిన భారీ వర్షానికి అనేక లోతట్టు ప్రాంతాలు జలమయమయ్యాయి. దీంతో ప్రభుత్వ ఉద్యోగులు ఇంటి నుంచే పని చేయాలని దుబాయ్ ప్రభుత్వం ఆదేశించింది. బీచ్లు, పార్కులు, పర్యాటక ప్రదేశాలను తాత్కాలికంగా మూసివేసింది. ప్రజలు ఇళ్లలోనే ఉండాలని, అత్యవసరమైతే తప్ప బయటకు రావద్దని అడ్వైజరీలో పేర్కొంది. వరద తీవ్రతను తక్కువ అంచనా వేయొద్దని, ప్రమాదకరంగా ఉండొచ్చని షార్జా సివిల్ డిఫెన్స్ అథారిటీ (SCDA) సూచించింది. దోహా, ఖతార్లలోనూ ఇటువంటి పరిస్థితే కనిపించింది.
వరదలకు కారణమేంటి..?
గతేడాది కూడా దుబాయ్లో భారీ వరదలు సంభవించాయి. అయితే, తక్కువ వ్యవధిలో భారీ వర్షాలు కురిస్తే వాటికి అనుగుణంగా అక్కడ డ్రైనేజీ వ్యవస్థ, అండర్పాస్ నిర్మాణాలు లేకపోవడం ఆకస్మిక వరదలకు కారణంగా తెలుస్తోంది. వరదల నేపథ్యంలో అప్రమత్తమైన స్థానిక మున్సిపల్ సిబ్బంది.. ప్రత్యేక బృందాలతో సహాయక చర్యలు చేపడుతున్నారు. ఇదే సమయంలో ట్రావెల్ అడ్వైజరీలను పాటించాలని అధికారులు సూచిస్తున్నారు.
