వచ్చే ఐదేళ్లలో అమెరికా నుంచి 500 బిలియన్ డాలర్ల విలువైన వస్తువులను కొనుగోలు చేయడంపై భారత్ సంసిద్ధత వ్యక్తం చేసింది. దీనిపై మంత్రి స్పందిస్తూ.. ‘భారతదేశం పెరుగుతున్న అవసరాల దృష్ట్యా ఈ లక్ష్యం చాలా తక్కువ. మొత్తం రెండు ట్రిలియన్ డాలర్ల దిగుమతి డిమాండ్లో అమెరికా వాటా కొంత భాగమే. ప్రస్తుతం ఇతర దేశాల నుంచి కొంటున్న 300 బిలియన్ డాలర్ల విలువైన వస్తువులను, పోటీతత్వాన్ని బట్టి అమెరికా సరఫరాదారుల నుంచి తీసుకునే అవకాశం ఉంది. విమానయాన రంగం, ఇంధనం, సాంకేతిక ఉత్పత్తులు, కోకింగ్ కోల్ వంటి వాటికి భారత్ ప్రాధాన్యత ఇస్తుంది’ అన్నారు.
