తెలుగునాట పద్మాలు వికసించాయి.. ప్రతిభకు తార్కాణంగా మనవారినీ వరించాయి. విశేష కృషికి లభించిన ప్రతిష్ఠాత్మక గుర్తింపు ఇది. విభిన్న రంగాల్లో నైపుణ్యానికి పట్టం కట్టిన సందర్భమిది. కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం ఏటా ప్రకటించే పద్మ పురస్కారాలకు.. ఈసారి తెలుగు రాష్ట్రాలకు చెందిన పలువురు విశిష్ట వ్యక్తులు ఎంపికయ్యారు. విద్య, వైద్యం, శాస్త్ర సాంకేతిక, కళలు, పశుసంవర్ధక రంగాలకు చెందిన ప్రముఖులు వీరిలో ఉన్నారు. ఒక్కొక్కరిదీ ఒక్కో ప్రత్యేక నేపథ్యం.. అసమాన ప్రతిభ వారి సొంతం.
క్యాన్సర్ మహమ్మారిపై ఆయనది అవిశ్రాంత పోరు. అమెరికాలో స్థిరపడినా ప్రతి మూడు నెలలకోసారి భారత్కు వచ్చి... క్యాన్సర్ నివారణపై అనేక కార్యక్రమాలు, అవగాహన సదస్సుల్లో పాల్గొంటున్నారు. తెలంగాణ, ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ రాష్ట్రాలకు ప్రభుత్వ సలహాదారుగా కొనసాగుతున్న ఆయన... రెండు రాష్ట్రాల్లో క్యాన్సర్కు అడ్డుకట్ట వేసేందుకు ప్రభుత్వాలతో కలిసి పనిచేస్తున్నారు. ఆయనే ప్రముఖ క్యాన్సర్ వ్యాధి నిపుణులు డాక్టర్ నోరి దత్తాత్రేయుడు. ఆయనకు 2015లోనే కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం పద్మశ్రీ అందించగా... తాజాగా పద్మభూషణ్ పురస్కారం ప్రకటించింది. ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్లోని కృష్ణా జిల్లా మంటాడ గ్రామంలో 1947 అక్టోబరు 21న ఆయన పేద కుటుంబంలో జన్మించారు. తండ్రి సత్యనారాయణ ఉపాధ్యాయుడిగా పనిచేశారు. తల్లి కనకదుర్గ గృహిణి. మచిలీపట్నం ఆంధ్ర జాతీయ కళాశాలలో పీయూసీ, బీఎస్సీ, కర్నూలులోని వైద్య కళాశాలలో ఎంబీబీఎస్, హైదరాబాద్లోని ఉస్మానియా వైద్య కళాశాలలో ఎండీ పూర్తి చేశారు. 1972 ఫిబ్రవరి నుంచి ఏడాదిపాటు గాంధీ ఆసుపత్రిలో పనిచేశారు. 1973 నుంచి 1976 వరకు ఉస్మానియాకు అనుబంధంగా ఉన్న రేడియం ఇన్స్టిట్యూట్ అండ్ క్యాన్సర్ ఆసుపత్రిలో రెసిడెంట్ వైద్యుడిగా సేవలందించారు. అనంతరం అమెరికా వెళ్లారు. క్యాన్సర్పై 4 పుస్తకాలు, 300లకుపైగా శాస్త్రీయ వ్యాసాలు రాశారు. ఈయన ఆధ్వర్యంలో సుమారు 300 మందికిపైగా వైద్యులు శిక్షణ పొందారు. బసవతారకం ఇండో-అమెరికన్ క్యాన్సర్ ఆసుపత్రి వ్యవస్థాపక సభ్యుల్లో ఒకరు. ప్రస్తుతం ఆసుపత్రి సలహాదారులుగా కొనసాగుతున్నారు. గత నాలుగు దశాబ్దాలుగా న్యూయార్క్లోని ప్రఖ్యాత కార్నెల్ మెడికల్ సెంటర్లో ఆంకాలజీ ప్రొఫెసర్, ఛైర్మన్, డైరెక్టర్ వంటి పదవులను ఆయన నిర్వహించారు. అనేక క్యాన్సర్ చికిత్స పద్ధతులను అభివృద్ధి చేశారు. ఐక్యరాజ్య సమితి అంతర్జాతీయ అణుశక్తి సంస్థ(ఐఏఈఏ) సలహాదారులుగా కొనసాగుతున్నారు. 2014లో అమెరికాలో అత్యున్నత పురస్కారమైన ‘‘ది ఎల్లిస్ ఐలాండ్ మెడల్ ఆఫ్ ఆనర్’’, అమెరికా క్యాన్సర్ సొసైటీ అందించే ప్రతిష్ఠాత్మకమైన ‘‘ట్రిబ్యూట్ ఆఫ్ లైఫ్’’ అవార్డులు అందుకున్నారు.
నాకు పద్మభూషణ్ అవార్డు ప్రకటించడంతో నా బాధ్యత మరింత పెరిగింది. ఈ అవార్డు రావడానికి కృషిచేసిన తెలంగాణ సీఎం రేవంత్రెడ్డి, ఏపీ సీఎం చంద్రబాబునాయుడికి కృతజ్ఞతలు. దేశవ్యాప్తంగా క్యాన్సర్ నివారణ కార్యక్రమాలను ముందుకు తీసుకెళ్లడానికి సిద్ధంగా ఉన్నాను.
ఆపరేషన్ సిందూర్లో పాకిస్థాన్తో జరిగిన పోరులో డ్రోన్లు, క్షిపణుల దాడులను నిలువరించి భారత్ పైచేయి సాధించడంలో ఆకాశ్ క్షిపణిది కీలక భూమిక. ఉపరితలం నుంచి గగనతలంలోని బహుళ లక్ష్యాలను ఛేదించే సూపర్సోనిక్ క్షిపణి ఇది. ఈ ప్రాజెక్టుపై తన సర్వీసు మొత్తం శ్రమించారు డీఆర్డీవో విశ్రాంత శాస్త్రవేత్త డాక్టర్ గడ్డమణుగు చంద్రమౌళి. ప్రాజెక్టు మొదలైన తొలి రోజు నుంచి డైరెక్టర్గా 2018లో పదవీ విరమణ చేసే వరకు 34 ఏళ్లపాటు ఒకే ప్రాజెక్టుపై పనిచేసిన వ్యక్తుల్లో ఆయన ఒకరు. ఆయనకు భారత ప్రభుత్వం సైన్స్ అండ్ ఇంజినీరింగ్ విభాగంలో పద్మశ్రీ పురస్కారాన్ని ప్రకటించింది.
ప్రతి దశలోనూ కీలకపాత్ర
ఖమ్మం జిల్లా మధిరలో 1959లో జన్మించిన చంద్రమౌళి అక్కడే ఇంటర్ వరకు చదివి, ఎన్ఐటీ వరంగల్ నుంచి బీటెక్ పూర్తి చేశారు. ఐఐటీ దిల్లీలో ఎంటెక్, ఉస్మానియా విశ్వవిద్యాలయం నుంచి డాక్టరేట్ చేశారు. 1983లో హైదరాబాద్ డీఆర్డీవో మిసైల్ కాంప్లెక్స్లోని డిఫెన్స్ రీసెర్చ్ అండ్ డెవలప్మెంట్ ల్యాబొరేటరీ(డీఆర్డీఎల్)లో శాస్త్రవేత్తగా చేరారు. డాక్టర్ అబ్దుల్ కలాం డీఆర్డీఎల్ డైరెక్టర్గా ఉన్న సమయంలో మనదేశం ఇంటిగ్రేటెడ్ గైడెడ్ మిసైల్ డెవలప్మెంట్ ప్రోగ్రామ్(ఐజీఎంబీడీ) ప్రారంభించింది. ఐదు క్షిపణుల అభివృద్ధి ఒకేసారి చేపట్టారు. ఇందులో భాగంగానే మధ్యశ్రేణి ఉపరితలం నుంచి గగనతల క్షిపణి(సామ్) ఆకాశ్ ప్రారంభించారు. డాక్టర్ ప్రహ్లాద మొదటి ప్రాజెక్టు డైరెక్టరు కాగా ముగ్గురి బృందంతో ఇది ప్రారంభమైంది. క్షిపణి రూపకల్పన, అభివృద్ధి, పరీక్షలు, ఉత్పత్తి, భారత సైన్యానికి చేర్చడం వరకు ప్రతి దశలోనూ ఆయన భాగస్వాములయ్యారు. 13 డీఆర్డీవో ప్రయోగశాలలు, 9 రక్షణ రంగ ఉత్పత్తి సంస్థలు, ప్రైవేటు పరిశ్రమలను ఏకం చేసి సుమారు రూ.33వేల కోట్ల విలువైన ఉత్పత్తి అర్డర్లు వచ్చేలా చేయడంలో ప్రధాన పాత్ర పోషించారు. 2015లో ఆకాశ్ క్షిపణి వ్యవస్థ ఈయన హయాంలోనే వైమానికదళంలో చేరాయి. ‘95 శాతం స్వదేశీ సాంకేతికతతో అభివృద్ధి చేసిన ఆకాశ్ క్షిపణి పరిశోధనలో నా సేవలను గుర్తించి పద్మశ్రీ పురస్కారం ఇవ్వడం చాలా సంతోషంగా ఉంది’ అని చంద్రమౌళి ‘ఈనాడు’కు తెలిపారు.
క్యాన్సర్ చికిత్స రంగంలో విశిష్ట కృషికి గుర్తింపుగా అపోలో క్యాన్సర్ సెంటర్స్ డైరెక్టర్, ప్రఖ్యాత రేడియేషన్ ఆంకాలజిస్ట్ డాక్టర్ విజయానంద్ పి.రెడ్డికి కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం పద్మశ్రీ పురస్కారం ప్రకటించింది. దశాబ్దాల పాటు ఆంకాలజీ రంగంలో సేవలందించిన డాక్టర్ రెడ్డి.. ఆధునిక చికిత్సా విధానాలను ప్రవేశపెట్టడం, ప్రపంచస్థాయి క్యాన్సర్ చికిత్సలను సామాన్యులకు అందుబాటులోకి తీసుకురావడంలో కీలక పాత్ర పోషించారు. డాక్టర్ విజయానంద్రెడ్డి కేవలం వైద్యుడిగానే కాకుండా.. సామాజిక సేవకుడిగానూ గుర్తింపు పొందారు. ‘క్యూర్’ ఫౌండేషన్ వ్యవస్థాపకుడిగా విశేష సేవలందించారు. ఆర్థికంగా వెనుకబడిన వర్గాలు, గ్రామీణులు, క్యాన్సర్తో బాధపడుతున్న చిన్నారులకు ఉచితంగా.. తక్కువ ఖర్చుతో చికిత్సలందించారు. క్యాన్సర్ స్క్రీనింగ్ శిబిరాలు, పొగాకు వ్యతిరేక అవగాహన కార్యక్రమాలు, పాలియేటివ్ కేర్ సేవలు, చికిత్సకు ఆర్థికసాయం వంటి కార్యక్రమాలను ఫౌండేషన్ నిర్వహిస్తోంది. ‘పెరి ఆపరేటివ్ బ్రెయిన్ ఇంటర్స్టీషియల్ ఇంప్లాంట్’ విధానాన్ని తొలిసారిగా విజయవంతంగా నిర్వహించి... క్యాన్సర్ చికిత్సలో కొత్త అధ్యాయాన్ని ఆయన ప్రారంభించారు. స్పర్శ్ హాస్పిస్ బోర్డు డైరెక్టర్గా తుది దశ క్యాన్సర్ రోగులకు సేవలందించడంలో ముఖ్య భూమిక పోషిస్తున్నారు. డాక్టర్ విజయానంద్ పి.రెడ్డి ఉస్మానియాలో ఎంబీబీఎస్, రేడియేషన్ ఆంకాలజీ, పీజీఐ చండీగఢ్లో, డీఎన్బీ, యూరోపియన్ సర్టిఫికేషన్ ఇన్ మెడికల్ ఆంకాలజీ చేశారు. ఐఎంఏ ఒరేషన్ అవార్డు(2024-25), అపోలో క్లినికల్ పయనీర్(2025), అమెరికన్ అకాడమీ ఆఫ్ ఆఫ్తాల్మాలజీ నుంచి ఏఓఎస్ అచీవ్మెంట్, టైమ్స్ హెల్త్కేర్ అచీవర్స్.. లెజెండ్ ఇన్ ఆంకాలజీ అవార్డులు అందుకున్నారు. ‘ఐయామ్ ఏ సర్వైవర్.. 108 స్టోరీస్ ఆఫ్ ట్రయంఫ్ ఓవర్ క్యాన్సర్’ అనే పుస్తకాన్ని రచించారు. ‘‘ఈ గౌరవం నాకే కాదు.. మొత్తం అపోలో కుటుంబానికి, క్యూర్ ఫౌండేషన్ బృందానికి, నిరంతరం సేవలందిస్తున్న వైద్య సిబ్బందికి దక్కుతుంది. నాలో నిత్యం ప్రేరణ కలిగించే క్యాన్సర్ రోగులు, వారి కుటుంబాలకు పురస్కారాన్ని అంకితం చేస్తున్నా’ అని డాక్టర్ విజయానంద్ పి.రెడ్డి పేర్కొన్నారు.
జాతీయ విద్యావిధానం రూపకల్పనలో కీలకపాత్ర పోషించడంతో పాటు యూజీసీ ఛైర్మన్గా పనిచేసి విద్యారంగంలో చేసిన సేవలకు నల్గొండ జిల్లా మామిడాలకు చెందిన యూజీసీ మాజీ ఛైర్మన్ మామిడాల జగదీశ్కుమార్ పద్మశ్రీ పురస్కారానికి ఎంపికయ్యారు. తిప్పర్తి మండలం మామిడాలలో రంగారావు, జయప్రద దేవి దంపతులకు జన్మించిన ఆయన మద్రాస్ ఐఐటీలో ఎమ్మెస్, పీహెచ్డీలు పూర్తిచేశారు. కెనడాలోని అంటారియోలోని వాటర్లూ విశ్వవిద్యాలయంలో డాక్టరేట్ చేశారు. దిల్లీలో ఇంజినీరింగ్ విభాగంలో ప్రొఫెసర్గా పనిచేశారు. 2001-2006 వరకు ఎలక్ట్రికల్ ఇంజినీరింగ్ విభాగంలో ఎలక్ట్రానిక్స్ గ్రూప్ ఛైర్మన్గా పనిచేశారు. 2009-2011 వరకు వీఎల్ఎస్ఐ డిజైన్, టూల్స్ అండ్ టెక్నాలజీ ఇంటర్ డిసిప్లినరీ ప్రోగ్రాం కో-ఆర్డినేటర్గా, తర్వాత ఐఐటీ దిల్లీలో చీఫ్ ఇన్వెస్టిగేటర్గా పనిచేశారు. దిల్లీలోని జవహర్లాల్ నెహ్రూ వర్సిటీకి వైస్ ఛాన్సలర్గా, యూజీసీ ఛైర్మన్గా బాధ్యతలు నిర్వర్తించారు. 200కి పైగా వ్యాసాలు రాశారు. నేషనల్ ఎసెస్మెంట్ అండ్ అక్రిడిటేషన్ కౌన్సిల్ గవర్నింగ్ కౌన్సిల్ ఛైర్మన్గా, ఇండియన్ నేషనల్ స్పేస్ ప్రమోషన్ అండ్ ఆథరైజేషన్ సెంటర్ బోర్డు సభ్యునిగా, ఆలిండియా కౌన్సిల్ ఫర్ టెక్నికల్ ఎడ్యుకేషన్ ఛైర్మన్, కేంద్ర సాంస్కృతిక మంత్రిత్వశాఖ ఆధ్వర్యంలోని నేషనల్ కౌన్సిల్ ఆఫ్ సైన్స్ మ్యూజియమ్స్ పాలకమండలి ఛైర్మన్గా పనిచేశారు. అవార్డ్ ఫర్ ఎక్స్లెన్స్. ఐఎస్ఏవీఎస్ఐ టెక్నోమెంటార్, ఐఈటీఈ రామ్లాల్ వాద్వా, ఐబీఎం ఫ్యాకల్టీ పురస్కారాలు పొందారు.
ఉమ్మడి జాతీయ కృషికి గుర్తింపు : జగదీశ్కుమార్
నన్ను ‘పద్మశ్రీ’కి ఎంపిక చేసిన కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వానికి కృతజ్ఞతలు. ఉన్నత విద్యను మరింత సమ్మిళితంగా, సరళంగా అభ్యసన ఫలితాలపై దృష్టి సారించేలా చేసేందుకు సాగుతున్న ఉమ్మడి జాతీయ కృషికి దక్కిన గుర్తింపుగా భావిస్తున్నాను. రానున్నరోజుల్లో మనం విశ్వవిద్యాలయాలను, కళాశాలలను మరింత బలోపేతం చేయాలి. గ్రామీణ ప్రాంతాల నుంచి, వెనుకబడిన వర్గాల నుంచి వచ్చే విద్యార్థులకు అవకాశాలను విస్తృతం చేయాలి.
వైద్య రంగంలో విశేష సేవలందించిన ప్రముఖ సర్జికల్ గ్యాస్ట్రో ఎంటరాలజిస్ట్, ఏఐజీ హాస్పిటల్స్ డైరెక్టర్ డాక్టర్ గూడూరు వెంకటరావు(జీవీ రావు)ను ప్రతిష్ఠాత్మక పద్మశ్రీ పురస్కారం వరించింది. ‘ఏషియన్ ఇన్స్టిట్యూట్ ఆఫ్ గ్యాస్ట్రోఎంటరాలజీ(ఏఐజీ)’ సహ వ్యవస్థాపకుడిగా డాక్టర్ జీవీ రావు కీలక పాత్ర పోషించారు. ఆయన ఇప్పటివరకు 12 వేలకుపైగా క్లిష్టమైన జీర్ణకోశ శస్త్రచికిత్సలు, 16 వేలకు పైగా ఎండోస్కోపిక్ విధానాలను విజయవంతంగా నిర్వహించారు. దేశంలోనే తొలిసారిగా ‘నో స్కార్ సర్జరీ’ ప్రవేశపెట్టారు. ప్రపంచంలోనే తొలి ‘ట్రాన్స్ ఓరల్ ఎండోస్కోపిక్ అపెండెక్టమీ నిర్వహించిన ఘనత ఈయన సొంతం. ల్యాప్రోస్కోపీ-ఎండోస్కోపీ హైబ్రిడ్ విధానాలను అభివృద్ధి చేసి... ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా వైద్య ప్రామాణికాలుగా మారడంలో కీలకంగా వ్యవహరించారు. బెంగళూరులోని ఇండియన్ ఇన్స్టిట్యూట్ ఆఫ్ సైన్స్ సహకారంతో భారతదేశపు తొలి దేశీయ సర్జికల్ సిమ్యులేటర్ను, ఐఐటీ హైదరాబాద్తో కలిసి గ్రామీణ ఆరోగ్య కేంద్రాలను అనుసంధానించే రోబోటిక్ నర్స్ సిస్టమ్ అభివృద్ధిలో కీలక పాత్ర పోషించారు. గ్రామీణ ప్రాంతాల్లో ‘ఇరిటబుల్ బవెల్ డిసీజ్(ఐబీడీ)’ తీవ్రత నిర్ధారణకు దోహదపడ్డారు. భారతీయ సర్జికల్ గ్యాస్ట్రోఎంటరాలజీ సంఘం అధ్యక్షుడిగా డాక్టర్ రావు.. శస్త్రచికిత్స విద్యలో ‘నాన్ టెక్నికల్ స్కిల్స్ ట్రైనింగ్’ ప్రవేశపెట్టారు. ఆయన సేవలు వైద్య పరిమితులు దాటి.. సామాజిక బాధ్యత, సాంకేతిక ఆవిష్కరణ, గ్రామీణాభివృద్ధి దిశగా విస్తరించాయి. డాక్టర్ జీవీ రావు స్వస్థలం నల్గొండ. ఉస్మానియాలో ఎంబీబీఎస్ వైద్యవిద్య, బెంగళూరులో ఎంఎస్ జనరల్ సర్జరీ, మద్రాస్లో సర్జికల్ గ్యాస్ట్రో అభ్యసించారు. తన సేవలకుగాను డాక్టర్ బీసీ రాయ్ జాతీయ అవార్డు(2009), ప్రైడ్ ఆఫ్ తెలంగాణ(2019), ఎకనామిక్ టైమ్స్ ‘ఇన్స్పైరింగ్ డాక్టర్స్ ఆఫ్ ఇండియా’(2018) పురస్కారాలతో పాటు రాయల్ కాలేజ్ ఆఫ్ సర్జన్స్ ఆఫ్ గ్లాస్గో(ఎఫ్ఆర్సీఎస్) నుంచి గౌరవ ఫెలోషిప్ అందుకున్నారు. ‘‘ఈ గౌరవం నా వ్యక్తిగత విజయం కాదు... ఏఐజీ హాస్పిటల్స్లో పనిచేసే ప్రతి ఒక్కరిది. దీన్ని ఏఐజీకి అంకితమిస్తున్నా. నా వైద్య ప్రయాణంలో నిరంతరం సహకరించిన డాక్టర్ డి.నాగేశ్వరరెడ్డికి ప్రత్యేక కృతజ్ఞతలు’’ అని డాక్టర్ జీవీ రావు పేర్కొన్నారు.
హైదరాబాద్ కంచన్బాగ్లోని నాన్ ఫెర్రస్ మెటీరియల్స్ టెక్నాలజీ డెవలప్మెంట్ సెంటర్(ఎన్ఎఫ్టీడీసీ) డైరెక్టర్గా ఉన్న డాక్టర్ కృష్ణమూర్తి బాలసుబ్రమణ్యన్ భారతీయ మెటీరియల్ సైన్స్ రంగంలో అత్యంత ప్రభావవంతమైన శాస్త్రవేత్తల్లో ఒకరు. పరిశోధనలను ప్రయోగశాలకే పరిమితం చేయకుండా వాటి ఫలాలను సామాన్యులకు ఉపయోగపడే ఉత్పత్తులుగా మార్చడంలో ఆయన చేసిన కృషికి గాను సైన్స్ అండ్ ఇంజినీరింగ్ విభాగంలో కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం పద్మశ్రీని ప్రకటించింది. హైదరాబాద్లోని డీఆర్డీవో ల్యాబ్లలో ఒకటైన డిఫెన్స్ మెటలర్జికల్ రీసెర్చ్ ల్యాబొరేటరీ(డీఎంఆర్ఎల్)లో డాక్టర్ కె.బాలసుబ్రమణ్యన్ వృత్తిజీవితం ప్రారంభించారు. క్షిపణులు, విమానాలకు అవసరమైన మిశ్ర లోహాలపై పట్టు సాధించారు. విదేశాల్లోనూ హై టెంపరేచర్ మెటీరియల్స్, పౌడర్ మెటలర్జీలో అధునాతన పరిశోధన చేశారు. 1990లో ఎన్ఎఫ్టీడీసీలో చేరారు. ప్రపంచస్థాయి పరిశోధన కేంద్రంగా మార్చడంలో కీలకపాత్ర పోషించారు. విదేశాలపై ఆధారపడకుండా దేశానికి అవసరమైన వ్యూహాత్మక ఖనిజాల వెలికితీత, ప్రాసెసింగ్లో డాక్టర్ కె.బాలసుబ్రమణ్యన్ కీలకపాత్ర వహించారు. ఇస్రో ప్రయోగించే రాకెట్లలోని క్రయోజెనిక్ ఇంజిన్లకు అవసరమైన ప్రత్యేక లోహ మిశ్రమాలను అభివృద్ధి చేశారు. తక్కువ ఖర్చుతో కూడిన, శరీరానికి అనుకూలమైన కృత్రిమ అవయవాలు, టైటానియం ఆధారిత ఎముక శస్త్రచికిత్స పరికరాలను రూపొందించారు. గుండె శస్త్రచికిత్సలకు అవసరమైన స్టెంట్లు, ఇతర పరికరాల తయారీలో మెటలర్జిని ఎలా ఉపయోగించవచ్చో నిరూపించారు. ఈవీ(విద్యుత్ వాహనాల) కోసం అవసరమైన బ్యాటరీ మెటీరియల్స్, ఎలక్ట్రిక్ మోటార్ల సామర్థ్యాన్ని పెంచే అధునాతన అయస్కాంతాల అభివృద్ధిపైనా పనిచేశారు. అల్యూమినియం, మెగ్నీషియం, టైటానియం వంటి లోహాలను తేలికగా, బలంగా మార్చే సాంకేతికతను అభివృద్ధి చేశారు. ఇది విమానయాన రంగంలో విప్లవాత్మక మార్పులు తెచ్చింది. రక్షణ, అంతరిక్ష రంగాల్లో క్లిష్టమైన విడి భాగాల దిగుమతులను తగ్గించి, దేశాన్ని స్వయం సమృద్ధి దిశగా నడిపించడంలో ఆయన కృషి ఎంతో ఉంది. అందుకే ఆయన్ను మెటీరియల్స్ ఇంజినీర్ ఆఫ్ ఇండియాగా పిలుస్తారు.
సంస్కృతం అంటే భాషే కాదు.. భారతీయ సంస్కృతికి వెన్నెముక. ఆ వెన్నెముకను సుదృఢం చేస్తూ అక్షరమే ఊపిరిగా, బోధనే ప్రాణంగా సాగుతున్నారు ఆచార్య వెంపటి కుటుంబశాస్త్రి. కృష్ణా జిల్లాలో మొదలైన ఆయన అక్షర ప్రయాణం ప్రపంచ సంస్కృత మహాసభలకు అధ్యక్షత వహించే స్థాయికి చేరింది. ఆయన ‘పద్మశ్రీ’కి ఎంపికయ్యారు. గుడ్లవల్లేరులో 1950 ఆగస్టు 12న వెంపటి జగన్నాథం, రాజ్యలక్ష్మి దంపతులకు ఆయన జన్మించారు. సమీపంలోని చిట్టిగూడురు సంస్కృత కళాశాలలో ఆంధ్ర విశ్వవిద్యాలయం అందించే విద్యాప్రవీణ కోర్సు పూర్తిచేశారు. అనంతరం తిరుపతిలోని ఎస్వీ వేద పాఠశాలలో రుగ్వేద అధ్యయనం చేశారు. రాష్ట్రీయ సంస్కృత సంస్థాన్ ద్వారా ‘విద్యావారధి’ (పీహెచ్డీ) పూర్తిచేసి, అద్వైత వేదాంతం, అలంకార శాస్త్రాల్లో అసమాన పాండిత్యాన్ని సంపాదించారు. తన వృత్తి జీవితాన్ని లెక్చరర్గా ప్రారంభించి అంచెలంచెలుగా ఎదిగారు. దిల్లీలోని రాష్ట్రీయ సంస్కృత సంస్థాన్కు తొలి వైస్ ఛాన్స్లర్గా సేవలందించారు. వారణాసి, సోమ్నాథ్లలోనూ సంస్కృత విశ్వవిద్యాలయాలకు వీసీగా వ్యవహరించారు. ప్రస్తుతం కంచిలోని శ్రీచంద్రశేఖరేంద్ర సరస్వతి విశ్వమహావిద్యాలయానికి ఛాన్స్లర్గా ఉన్నారు. గుర్రం జాషువా ఫిరదౌసి, జంధ్యాల పాపయ్యశాస్త్రి పుష్పవిలాపం సహా అనేక రచనలను సంస్కృతంలోకి కుటుంబశాస్త్రి అనువదించారు. కొత్తగా సంస్కృత భాషను నేర్చుకునే వారికోసం ఐదు స్థాయిల్లో సంస్కృత స్వాధ్యాయ పేరుతో పుస్తకాలు రాశారు. వాటిని కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం ప్రచురించింది. అంతర్జాతీయంగా సంస్కృత భాషకు కుటుంబశాస్త్రి బ్రాండ్ అంబాసిడర్గా నిలిచారు. ప్యారిస్ కేంద్రంగా పనిచేసే ‘ఇంటర్నేషనల్ అసోసియేషన్ ఆఫ్ సాంస్క్రీట్ స్టడీస్’కు వరుసగా రెండుసార్లు అధ్యక్షుడిగా ఎన్నికయ్యారు. క్యోటో (జపాన్), దిల్లీ, బ్యాంకాక్, వాంకూవర్ (కెనడా) నగరాల్లో జరిగిన ప్రపంచ సంస్కృత మహాసభలకు ఆయన అధ్యక్షత వహించారు.
కుటుంబశాస్త్రి ప్రసంగాలకే పరిమితం కాకుండా 15కు పైగా గ్రంథాలు రచించారు. దాదాపు 50కి పైగా పరిశోధనా పత్రాలు సమర్పించారు. ఆయన పాండిత్యానికి గుర్తింపుగా 2014లో రాష్ట్రపతి నుంచి ‘సర్టిఫికెట్ ఆఫ్ ఆనర్’ అందుకున్నారు. శృంగేరి, కంచి పీఠాధిపతుల నుంచి ‘శాస్త్రనిధి’, ‘వేదాంత విశారద’ వంటి అనేక బిరుదులను, పురస్కారాలను స్వీకరించారు.
సెంటర్ ఫర్ సెల్యులార్ అండ్ మాలిక్యులర్ బయాలజీ(సీసీఎంబీ) ప్రధాన శాస్త్రవేత్త, సెంటర్ ఫర్ డీఎన్ఏ ఫింగర్ ప్రింటింగ్ అండ్ డయాగ్నొస్టిక్స్(సీడీఎఫ్డీ) మాజీ డైరెక్టర్ డాక్టర్ కుమారసామి తంగరాజ్ భారతీయ జన్యుశాస్త్ర రంగంలో అత్యున్నత పరిశోధకులు. ఆయనకు భారత ప్రభుత్వం శాస్త్ర, సాంకేతికత విభాగంలో ‘పద్మశ్రీ’ పురస్కారాన్ని ప్రకటించింది. గత ఏడాది చివరలో ఆయన సైన్స్లో అత్యున్నత పురస్కారం ‘విజ్ఞాన్ శ్రీ’ని రాష్ట్రపతి చేతుల మీదుగా అందుకున్నారు. తమిళనాడులోని కాంచీపురం జిల్లా చెయ్యూరులో 1963 జూన్లో జన్మించిన తంగరాజ్.. మద్రాస్ విశ్వవిద్యాలయం నుంచి బీఎస్సీ, ఎంఎస్సీ, పీహెచ్డీ పూర్తి చేశారు. హైదరాబాద్లోని సీసీఎంబీలో 1993లో శాస్త్రవేత్తగా చేరి వివిధ హోదాల్లో పరిశోధనలు చేశారు. 2020 నుంచి 2023 వరకు సీడీఎఫ్డీ డైరెక్టర్గా చేశారు. ప్రస్తుతం సీసీఎంబీలో ప్రధాన శాస్త్రవేత్తగా ఉన్నారు. తంగరాజ్ మూడు దశాబ్దాలుగా మానవ జన్యుశాస్త్రం, జనాభా శాస్త్రం, పరిణామ క్రమంపై విశేష పరిశోధనలు చేశారు. మన జన్యు చరిత్రను విశ్లేషించి పూర్వీకులు ఆఫ్రికా నుంచి సుమారు 65వేల ఏళ్ల క్రితం వలస వచ్చిన తీరు మొదలు... అండమాన్ నికోబార్ దీవుల్లోని విభిన్న తెగల ప్రజల వలసల గురించి వెలుగులోకి తెచ్చారు. దక్షిణాసియా జనాభాలో గుండె జబ్బుల సమస్యలకు కారణమయ్యే ప్రత్యేక జన్యు వైవిధ్య గుర్తింపు, ఒకే సామాజికవర్గంలోని అంతర్వివాహాలతో జన్యు వ్యాధుల ముప్పు వరకు పరిశోధనల ద్వారా వెల్లడించారు. భారతీయ జనాభా ప్రధానంగా రెండు భిన్న సమూహాల నుంచి ఉద్భవించిందని నిరూపించారు. తన పరిశోధనల ఆధారంగా జనాభాలో అరుదైన జన్యు వ్యాధుల భారాన్ని తగ్గించే లక్ష్యంతో పీడియాట్రిక్ రేర్ జెనెటిక్ డిసీజెస్ అనే మిషన్ ప్రోగ్రామ్ను ప్రారంభించారు.

రంగారెడ్డి జిల్లా శంషాబాద్కు చెందిన సహకార ఉద్యమనేత మామిడి రామారెడ్డికి మరణానంతరం పద్మశ్రీ పురస్కారం లభించింది. గత అక్టోబరు 26న ఆయన తన 83వ ఏట హైదరాబాద్లో కన్నుమూశారు. శంషాబాద్లో 1943లో భోజిరెడ్డి, నీలమ్మ దంపతులకు జన్మించిన ఆయన ఉస్మానియా విశ్వవిద్యాలయంలో పబ్లిక్ అడ్మినిస్ట్రేషన్, పొలిటికల్ సైన్స్, ఎకనమిక్స్ డిగ్రీ, అదే విశ్వవిద్యాలయంలో జర్నలిజంలో, తర్వాత దిల్లీ విశ్వవిద్యాలయంలో పొలిటికల్ సైన్స్లో పీజీ చేశారు. అమెరికాలోని ప్రిన్స్టన్ విశ్వవిద్యాలయంలో స్థానిక ప్రభుత్వాలు, ఆర్థికాభివృద్ధి కోర్సు చేశారు. అక్కడి నుంచి స్వదేశానికి వచ్చి 1967-70లో రాజేంద్రనగర్ సర్పంచిగా, 1970-76లో సమితి అధ్యక్షునిగా పనిచేశారు. అనంతరం సహకార ఉద్యమాన్ని ప్రారంభించారు. సహకారచట్టంలో లోపాలపై, సహకార సంఘాలపై ప్రభుత్వ పెత్తనాన్ని ఆయన వ్యతిరేకిస్తూ విస్తృత స్థాయిలో సభలు, సమావేశాలు జరిపారు. ఇదే లక్ష్యంతో 1975లో సహకార అభివృద్ధి సంస్థ(సీడీఎఫ్)ను ఏర్పాటు చేశారు. 1990లో కంపెనీల చట్టం కింద సహకార సంఘాలను ఏర్పాటు చేయించారు. వాటికి ప్రభుత్వం ఆమోదం తెలపకపోవడంతో వాటి గుర్తింపునకు ఉద్యమించారు. రామారెడ్డి కృషి ఫలితంగా సహకార సంస్థలపై సభ్యుల నియంత్రణను కల్పిస్తూ ఉమ్మడి ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్లో ప్రభుత్వం 1995లో పరస్పర సహాయ సహకార సంఘాల (మ్యూచువల్లీ ఎయిడెడ్ కోఆపరేటివ్ సొసైటీస్-మాక్స్) చట్టం తెచ్చింది. దీనికింద ఆయన సీడీఎఫ్ ద్వారా తెలంగాణలో 585 రైతు, మహిళాసంఘాలు, పురుషుల సంఘాల ఏర్పాటులో కీలకపాత్ర పోషించారు. తర్వాత రాష్ట్రవ్యాప్తంగా మాక్స్ చట్టం కింద తెలుగు రాష్ట్రాల్లో వేల సంఖ్యలో సంఘాలు ఏర్పాటయ్యాయి. 2002లో వేసిన రామ్నివాస్ మీర్ధా కమిటీతో పాటు 8 రాష్ట్రాల్లో మాక్స్ చట్ట రూపకల్పన కమిటీల్లో సభ్యునిగా చేర్చగా.. ఆయా ప్రభుత్వాలకు సూచనలందించారు. తెలంగాణలో ఆయన ఏర్పాటు చేయించిన సంఘాల్లో 2.69 లక్షల మంది సభ్యులుండగా, రూ.570 కోట్ల వాటాధనంతో అవి నడుస్తున్నాయి.

He worked in Gandhi Hospital for one year from February 1972. From 1973 to 1976, he served as a resident physician at Radium Institute and Cancer Hospital, affiliated to Osmania. Basavatharakam is one of the founding members of the Indo-American Cancer Hospital. Currently continuing as a hospital consultant. For the past four decades, he has held the positions of Professor, Chairman and Director of Oncology at the renowned Cornell Medical Center in New York. Many cancer treatment methods have been developed. The United Nations continues to be an advisor to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). In 2014, he received the highest award in America, "The Ellis Island Medal of Honor", and the prestigious "Tribute of Life" awards provided by the American Cancer Society.

Our country launched the Integrated Guided Missile Development Program (IGMBD) during Dr. Abdul Kalam's directorship of DRDL. Five missiles were developed simultaneously. As a part of this, the inter-continental ballistic missile (SAM) Akash was launched from the surface. It started with a team of three with Dr Prahlada as the first project director. He was involved in every phase of missile design, development, testing, production and delivery to the Indian Army. 13 DRDO laboratories, 9 defense manufacturing companies and private industries have played a major role in securing production orders worth around Rs.33 thousand crores. In 2015, the Akash missile system was inducted into the Air Force during his tenure. "I am very happy to be awarded the Padma Shri in recognition of my services in the research of Akash missile developed with 95 percent indigenous technology," Chandramouli told 'Eenadu'.

I am thankful to the central government for selecting me for 'Padma Shri'. I think it is a recognition of the joint national effort to make higher education more inclusive and focus on learning outcomes. In coming days we need to strengthen universities and colleges. Opportunities should be widened for students coming from rural areas and backward communities. Venkata Rao (GV Rao) was awarded the prestigious Padma Shri award. Dr. GV Rao played a key role as the co-founder of the 'Asian Institute of Gastroenterology (AIG)'. So far he has successfully performed more than 12 thousand complex gastrointestinal surgeries and more than 16 thousand endoscopic procedures. 'No scar surgery' was introduced for the first time in the country. He has the honor of conducting the world's first trans-oral endoscopic appendectomy. Laparoscopy-endoscopy hybrid procedures have been developed and... He played a key role in becoming medical standards worldwide. He played a key role in developing India's first indigenous surgical simulator in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and a robotic nurse system connecting rural health centers with IIT Hyderabad. He helped to diagnose the severity of 'Irritable Bowel Disease (IBD)' in rural areas. As the president of Indian Surgical Gastroenterology Association, Dr. Rao introduced 'non-technical skills training' in surgical education. His services have extended beyond the limits of medicine to social responsibility, technological innovation and rural development. Nalgonda is the hometown of Dr. G.V. Rao. Studied MBBS Medicine in Osmania, MS General Surgery in Bangalore and Surgical Gastro in Madras. Non-Ferrous in Kanchanbagh, Hyderabad Dr. Krishnamurthy Balasubramanian, Director of the Materials Technology Development Center (NFTDC), is one of the most influential scientists in the field of Indian materials science. He was awarded the Padma Shri by the Central Government in the Department of Science and Engineering for his efforts in transforming the results of research into products useful to the common man rather than limiting it to the laboratory. Dr. K. Balasubramanian started his career at the Defense Metallurgical Research Laboratory (DMRL), one of the DRDO labs in Hyderabad. Mastered the alloys required for missiles and aircraft. Advanced research was done in high temperature materials and powder metallurgy abroad. Joined NFTDC in 1990. He was instrumental in making it a world-class research center. Dr. K. Balasubramanian played a key role in the extraction and processing of strategic minerals required by the country without depending on foreign countries. ISRO has developed special metal alloys required for cryogenic engines in launch rockets. Low-cost, body-friendly artificial limbs, titanium-based bone surgery instruments have been developed. He demonstrated how metallurgy can be used to make stents and other devices needed for heart surgeries. He also worked on the development of battery materials required for EVs and advanced magnets to increase the efficiency of electric motors. A technology has been developed to make metals like aluminium, magnesium and titanium lighter and stronger. It revolutionized the aviation industry. His contribution in reducing the import of critical spare parts in the defense and space sectors and leading the country towards self-sufficiency is immense. That is why he is called Materials Engineer of India.
Sanskrit is not just a language.. the backbone of Indian culture. Acharya Vempati Kudumbashastri is strengthening that backbone and the letter is breath and teaching is life. His literary journey, which started in Krishna district, reached the level of presiding over World Sanskrit Mahasabhas. He was selected for 'Padma Shri'. He was born on August 12, 1950 in Gudlavalleru to Vempati Jagannath and Rajyalakshmi. He completed the academic course offered by Andhra University at the nearby Chittigudur Sanskrit College. Later, he studied Rugveda at SV Vedic School in Tirupati. Having completed 'Vidyavaradhi' (Ph.D.) from Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, he acquired unparalleled mastery in Advaita Vedanta and Alankara Shastra. He started his career as a lecturer and progressed step by step. Served as the first Vice-Chancellor of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, Delhi. He also acted as VC of Sanskrit Universities in Varanasi and Somnath. Currently, he is the Chancellor of Srichandrasekharendra Saraswati Vishwa Mahavidyalaya, Kanchi. Kudumbashastri translated several works into Sanskrit including Gurram Joshua Firadausi and Pushpavilapam by Jandhyala Papayashastri. He has written books called Sanskrit Swadhyaya at five levels for new learners of Sanskrit language. They are published by the central government. Kudumbashastri became the brand ambassador of Sanskrit language internationally. He was elected twice consecutively as the president of the Paris-based International Association of Sanskrit Studies. He presided over the World Sanskrit Conferences held in Kyoto (Japan), Delhi, Bangkok and Vancouver (Canada).
Kutumbashastri wrote more than 15 books not limited to speeches. Presented more than 50 research papers. In recognition of his scholarship, he received a 'Certificate of Honor' from the President in 2014. Received many titles and awards like 'Sastranidhi' and 'Vedanta Visarada' from Sringeri and Kanchi presidents. and Molecular Biology (CCMB) Principal Scientist and former Director of Center for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD) Dr. Kumarasamy Thangaraj is one of the top researchers in the field of Indian genetics. The Government of India awarded him 'Padma Shri' in the category of science and technology. At the end of last year, he received the highest award in science 'Vigyan Shri' from the hands of the President. Born in June 1963 in Cheyur, Kancheepuram district, Tamil Nadu, Thangaraj completed B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D. from Madras University. He joined CCMB, Hyderabad as a scientist in 1993 and did research in various capacities. He was made the director of CDFD from 2020 to 2023. Currently he is the Chief Scientist at CCMB. Thangaraj has done remarkable researches on human genetics, demography and evolutionary sequence for three decades. Analyzing our genetic history has shed light on the migration of the different tribes of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, beginning with the migration of our ancestors from Africa about 65,000 years ago. Research has revealed the identification of unique genetic variants that contribute to heart disease complications in South Asian populations, from intermarriage within the same community to the risk of genetic diseases. proved that the Indian population originated mainly from two distinct groups. Based on his research, he started a mission program called Pediatric Rare Genetic Diseases with the aim of reducing the burden of rare genetic diseases in the population. This award will increase the enthusiasm to solve the problems faced by the society through science.

The fragrance of singing that he left has blossomed into the 'Padma Shri' award today. Garimella Balakrishna Prasad, a renowned music artist who gave life to Annamacharya's kirtans and spread them around the world, was awarded the Padma Shri posthumously. Balakrishna Prasad was born on November 9, 1948 in a musical family in Rajamahendravaram. Mother Krishnaveni was a violinist and father Narasimha Rao was a singer. Balakrishna Prasad, who nurtured his musical heritage, immersed himself in nadopasan since his childhood. In 1978 Thithide joined the Annamacharya project as a grade-1 artist. In 2006, Titide hired him as a court scholar. His music concerts in Tirumala Kshetra are innumerable. He passed away on March 11, 2025. Unable to digest his death, his wife Radha also died on June 8 last year. Currently, his sons Pawan Kumar and Anil Kumar are carrying forward their father's ambitions. Anilkumar Annamayya engaged in the promotion of kirtans. Garimella, who has been a musician for more than three decades, has received many state and central awards in the past. Now 'Padma Shri' has become the crown stone of his fame.
Balakrishna Prasad is credited not only with singing Annamayya's kirtans, but also with creating wonderful compositions. He composed about 5,000 paichilu kirtans and made Annamayya Sahitya accessible to crores of devotees. Every hymn that emanated from his voice was filled with an ethereal sense of piety. Awarded Padma Shri posthumously. He passed away in Hyderabad at the age of 83 on October 26. Born in Shamshabad in 1943 to Bhoji Reddy and Neelamma, he completed his degree in Public Administration, Political Science and Economics from Osmania University, PG in Journalism from the same University and then PG in Political Science from Delhi University. He did a course on Local Government and Economic Development at Princeton University, USA. From there he returned home and served as Sarpanchi of Rajendranagar in 1967-70 and as President of the Samiti in 1970-76. After that, the cooperative movement was started. He held meetings and meetings on a wide scale against the loopholes in the Cooperative Act and the government's pressure on the cooperatives. Cooperative Development Corporation (CDF) was formed in 1975 with the same objective. In 1990, cooperative societies were formed under the Companies Act. As the government did not approve them, they moved for their recognition. As a result of Rama Reddy's efforts, the government of Andhra Pradesh introduced the Mutually Aided Cooperative Societies (MAX) Act in 1995, providing member control over cooperatives. Due to this, he played a vital role in the formation of 585 farmers', women's associations and men's associations in Telangana through CDF. Later, thousands of associations were formed in Telugu states under the MAX Act across the state. In 2002, he was included as a member of the Ramnivas Mirdha Committee as well as a member of the Max law drafting committees in 8 states and gave suggestions to the respective governments. In Telangana, the associations formed by him have 2.69 lakh members and are running with a capital of Rs.570 crores.
Ramareddy's wife Shyamala is in Hyderabad. Two daughters settled in America. Shyamala expressed her joy at the Padma Shri award. Anunityam has breathed life into cooperation and lived with the aim of strengthening the system. He said that he worked for the upliftment of farmers, women and other communities.
