Persistence, discipline, hard work... Sangeetha Yanamandra has succeeded in her career by using these as weapons. From Java to AI... a lifelong student who has learned a lot. She was leading hundreds of people and inspiring thousands as 'Vice President - Engineering, Site Leader' at Open Text Technologies Hyderabad Center...

1987... I was 13 years old. Dad didn't stop me from learning to ride a moped. No, if I tried something new, they would silently approve. With that, the curiosity to learn grew and he learned to ride a bike. Still, if a new project comes, he says that he will do it first and then go into the details. Father Lakshmana Rao and mother Kusuma Kumari worked in ECIL, Hyderabad. Mom has to go to office at half past six in the morning. So she used to get up at half past three and cook. I learned multi-tasking from her.

With her encouragement...

I did B.Sc Electronics and MCA. Couldn't go into IT due to Y2K problem. So I used to teach part-time classes to BCA and engineering students. Later joined Osmania Evening College and M.Tech as a batch topper. done I was afraid of maths and science when I was in school. 2 hrs daily Read more and lose fear of them. Learning new things builds self-confidence and knowing that with persistence you can overcome limitations. We are Mehrji, Advocate. It was with his encouragement that I was able to complete M.Tech and LLB.

My goal was the same...

After M.Tech I joined IT. Currently overseeing the Open Text Technologies engineering department, product management and also overseeing the analytics and legal tech departments. If we are in leadership, it is our responsibility from planning to implementation. I have done projects related to all kinds of languages and software like Java, C, Python, .NET, AI... Being a part of the project, I used to learn new things within a month or two. I have always prioritized innovation in my career. I have got 5 patents so far in this journey. Bringing fast and quality products with startup and entrepreneur mindset. This is possible by prioritizing tasks and breaking them into smaller parts. The problem will be solved by reverse engineering. No matter what time I sleep in the night... I wake up at 3 in the morning and study. If IIT Hyderabad conducts AI classes, go and learn. Independent Director from Ministry of Corporate Affairs also wrote the exam. Even 15 minutes a day for upskilling will make progress. The goal is to become a CTO/CEO in five years. Recently recognized as an 'Inspiring Women Leader' in the field of Analytics by 3AI and Hysia. We meet once a month at 'Women in Search of Excellence (WISE)-Hyderabad' and discuss the opportunities and obstacles faced by women. Even as a mentor in organizations like Nasscom.

  • Participate in half marathons. Give a break if the pain in the knees is more than a year ago. Building up stamina... running again. Likes driving. Ride bikes and cars.
  • Girls... Don't give up your career for fear of temporary problems. Achieving a goal requires discipline, persistence, and continuous practice. This is a lesson I learned from my daughter Vaishnavi.
