Today, Amaravati: The employment guarantee scheme will be implemented in the old system till March this year. The 'Vikasit Bharat Guarantee for Livelihood, Livelihood Mission (Rural)' (VB G Ram Ji) will come into effect from the new financial year starting from April. The Union Ministry of Rural Development has made this clear. The Central Government has amended the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) and introduced a new 'VB G Ram Ji'. There is no clarity as to when it will come into force. In the new system, from the labor and material budget to the administrative expenses, the center has to bear 60% and the state government 40%. 9 months of the financial year 2025-26 have already been completed.

Will the Center allocate the budget for the remaining three months under the new system? Should the old policy continue till the end of March? Many states have asked the Center to clarify the matter. In this context, officials of the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Departments of the states gave a clarification in a video conference held from Delhi by the senior officials of the Union Ministry of Rural Development. It has been suggested that Narega should be implemented in the old system till the end of March and 'VB G Ram Ji' will be implemented from April 1.

Budget Rs. 6 thousand crores?

The officials have estimated that the budget of 'VB G Ram Ji' will be Rs. Based on the rural population of the state, this budget is calculated along with salaries, material funds and administrative expenses. In this, the Center will contribute Rs.3,600 crores (60%) and the state will contribute Rs.2,400 crores (40%).
