Goa is a paradise for winter tourists. Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently unveiled the world's tallest bronze statue of Lord Rama in South Goa. Tourists who come here are impressed by the beauty of nature as well as Sri Ramachandran. Behind these lights there is also a thick darkness. Goa, which was liberated from the Portuguese exactly 64 years ago, now needs real freedom from drug gangs, robberies, rape and harassment of tourists!

DWhen September comes, Goa will be crowded with tourists. Along with Andhra, Telangana, Karnataka and Maharashtra, boys from the north also yearn to go to Goa. IT employees fix 'dates' for parties there in advance. In this season, there is no shortage of foreign tourists. Goa's green hills, milky waterfalls, beautiful sea shores, roads winding through tall coconut trees, centuries-old churches, buildings with high ceilings and balconies will captivate anyone. The beauty of nature at every step, the confluence of Indian-Portuguese cultures and the history of this 'Eastern Rome' is also unique. In 1510, Goa, which left the hands of the Bijapur Sultans under the Portuguese rule, did not get liberation even for fourteen years after the independence of India! Sasemira did not want the Portuguese rulers who had been ensconced in 'Gopakapattana' for four and a half centuries to merge it with India. With this and that going on for a long time, India took up 'Operation Vijay' on December 18, 1961, saying that it would not tolerate any more. The Governor General of the place was dismayed by the 36 hours of attacks by the three forces. After his surrender the next day, along with Goa, the Portuguese-held Daman Islands were captured by India. That's why December 19th is celebrated as Goa's liberation day.

Parani Nizam Pachika!

The British are preparing to declare independence to India. Loud discussions are going on with the leaders of the country. The Nizam, the ruler of the time, who knew things from time to time, and the world leader, Mir Osman Ali Khan, did not share anything. He knew that his games would not be played in independent India and that all avenues to his foreign trade would be closed. So the Nizam sent Nawaz Jung as his envoy to Sir Alexander Rogers, the British High Commissioner in London. The Nizam held secret talks with the Portuguese officials in London and Lisbon with his ambassador. He offered to sell Goa to him or at least lease it. He requested that he would trade from Goa across the Arabian Sea and give as much as he wanted. But the Portuguese rulers said Sasemira could not. Even though those efforts went forward, the Nizam could not have imagined that his state would also be merged with independent India! It was formed as a separate state on 30 May 1987. With tourism as its main source of income, Goa ranks first in terms of per capita income and human development index. More than one crore people have visited there, and about four and a half lakh of them are foreigners. Southerners, especially Telugu tourists, mostly visit Calangute, Baga and Anjuna beaches in North Goa. Historical Agunda Chapora forts are also visited. Old Goa's churches and markets like Mapusa are great fun for Anna's grandchildren. Now that the statue of Sri Ram has been erected in South Goa's Portagali, it is expected that the number of tourists will increase there as well. Tourism is fine... Many Telugu students are studying in famous institutes like IIT, BITS Pilani, IIM in Goa. South Goa is slightly different compared to North Goa. Those who seek solitude and tranquility can find Palolem and Aguda beaches there. Most foreigners come there. Now it is stuck there. Goa is infamous for sexual harassment and rape of foreign women. If a woman from Morocco is seriously ill in the ICU of a Goa hospital, what should we think if the doctor there rapes her? If 9.4 lakh foreign tourists came to Panjim in 2019, half of them are not coming now, that's the reason for such crimes!

Supply of drugs to Telugu states...

Incidents like drug gangs and robbery of tourists are often coming to light in Goa. Goaco from countries like Brazil and Nigeria; It is disturbing that drugs are being supplied to cities like Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam from there. The Telangana Anti-Narcotics Police, who went to Goa for investigation, arrested an accused there and seized cocaine worth Rs 1.25 crore. Earlier in April, cocaine worth Rs 43 crore was seized in South Goa. The government has a lot to do to immediately get rid of the rapes, harassment, taxi gangs and drug mafia that plague Goa's tourism. States like AP and Telangana, which want to focus on tourism, should keep the bitter experiences of this 'beach paradise' in check. Provide a safe and pleasant tourist experience free from drugs and harassment. మరీ ముఖ్యంగా విదేశీ పర్యాటకుల భద్రతకు పూచీ వహించాలి. Only then tourism can blossom into three flowers and six trees with the impetus of progress!
