మెరకముడిదాం, డిసెంబరు 24(ఆంధ్రజ్యోతి): మండలంలోని కొర్లాం పంచాయతీ విభజనకు స్థానికుల నుంచి చుక్కెదురైంది. బుధవారం గ్రామంలో ఏర్పాటుచేసిన గ్రామసభలో విభజన తీర్మానం వీగిపోయింది. ముగ్గురు మాత్రమే అనుకూలం ఓటేయగా 204 మంది తీర్మానాన్ని తిరస్కరించారు. కొర్లాం పంచాయతీ పరిధిలో కొత్తకర్ర, కుంచిగుమడాం, సీరియాలపేట శివారు గ్రామాలు ఉన్నాయి. అయితే ఇటీవల రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం పంచాయతీల విభజనకు గ్రీన్‌సిగ్నల్‌ ఇచ్చిన నేపధ్యంలో పంచాయతీలో ఎవరూ కోరకపోయినా అధికారులు పంచాయతీ విభజనను తెరపైకి తెచ్చారు. కొర్లాం నుంచి కొత్తకర్ర, కుంచి గుమడాంలను వేరుచేసి ఆ రెండింటినీ ప్రత్యేక పంచాయతీగా ఏర్పాటు చేయతలపెట్టారు.ఈనేపఽథ్యంలో బుధవారం కొర్లాం రామమందిరం వద్ద కొర్లాం, కొత్తకర్ర, సిరియాలపేట, కుంచిగుమడాం గ్రామాల నుంచి వచ్చిన ప్రజలతో గ్రామసభ ఏర్పాటుచేశారు. ప్రస్తుత సర్పంచ్‌ బూర్లె పార్వతమ్మతోపాటు మాజీ సర్పంచ్‌ బూర్లె నరేష్‌కుమార్‌, ఎంపీటీసీ సభ్యుడు జె.శ్రీనురాజు, పంచాయతీ కార్యదర్శి వెంకటరమణ పాల్గొన్నారు. నాలుగు గ్రామాల నుంచి 206 మంది హాజరయ్యారు. కార్యదర్శి వెంకటరమణ సభ ఏర్పాటుచేసి తీర్మా నం ఉద్దేశాన్ని వారికి చదివి వినిపించి ప్రజాభిప్రాయ సేకరణ కోరారు. చేతులెత్తే విధానం ద్వారా అభిప్రాయాలను తెలపాలని సూచించారు. దీంతో గ్రామసభకు హాజరైన 206 మందిలో 203 మంది విభజనకు వ్యతిరేకంగా ఓటు వేశారు. కేవలం ముగ్గురు మాత్రమే విభజనకు అనుకూలత వ్యక్తం చేశారు.

Merakamudidam, December 24 (Andhra Jyoti): Korlam panchayat in the mandal has been criticized by the locals for its division. The partition resolution was defeated in the Gram Sabha organized in the village on Wednesday. 204 voted against the resolution with only three in favour. Kottakarra, Kunchigumadam and Serialapeta are the suburbs of Korlam Panchayat. But recently, in the context of the green signal given by the state government for the division of panchayats, the authorities brought the division of panchayats to the fore even though no one in the panchayat wanted it. Kottakarra and Kunchi Gumadam were separated from Korlam and both were set up as a separate panchayat. On Wednesday, a gram sabha was organized at Korlam Ram temple with people from Korlam, Kottakara, Sirialapeta and Kunchigumadam villages. Current Sarpanch Boorle Parvathamma along with former Sarpanch Boorle Nareshkumar, MPTC member J.Srinuraju and Panchayat Secretary Venkataramana participated. 206 people attended from four villages. Secretary Venkataramana convened a meeting and read out the intention of the resolution to them and asked for a referendum. It is suggested to express opinions by raising hands. As a result, out of 206 people who attended the Gram Sabha, 203 voted against the partition. Only three were in favor of partition.
