ఈ ప్రపంచంలో అతి ఎక్కువ మంది పాములంటేనే భయపడతారు. పాములు ఉన్నాయంటే అటువైపు వెళ్లడానికి కూడా వణికిపోతారు. విషపూరిత సర్పం కాటేస్తే నిమిషాల్లో ప్రాణాలు పోవడం ఖాయం. అందుకే చాలా మంది పాములకు దూరంగా ఉంటారు. సింహాలు, పులులు కూడా పాములకు సాధ్యమైనంత దూరంగా ఉంటాయి. పాము విషం సింహాలను కూడా హతమార్చుతుంది. తాజాగా వడోదరలో అలాంటి ఘటనే జరిగింది. ఆ వీడియో ప్రస్తుతం నెట్టింట హల్చల్ చేస్తోంది (Vadodara Sayaji Baug Zoo lioness).
వడోదరలోని సాయాజీబాగ్ జూలో ఉన్న సింహం బోనులోకి ఒక నాగుపాము వచ్చింది. ఆ పామును గమనించిన సింహం దానిపై దాడి చేసింది. పాము, సింహం మధ్య హోరాహోరీగా పోరాటం సాగింది. ఈ దాడిలో సింహాన్ని పలు సార్లు పాము కాటు వేసింది. దీంతో పాము విషం మొత్తం సింహం ఒంట్లోకి ప్రవేశించింది. జూ సిబ్బంది అక్కడకు చేరుకుని పామును బయటకు తీసేశారు. సింహానికి వెంటనే చికిత్స ప్రారంభించారు. అయినప్పటికీ సింహం కోలుకోలేదు (lioness cobra bite).
ఐదు రోజుల తర్వాత ఆ సింహం మరణించింది (lioness snake fight video). వైద్యులు ఎంత ప్రయత్నించినా ఆ సింహాన్ని కాపాడలేకపోయారు. వడోదర జూలోని ఆ సింహం పేరు సమృద్ధి. సమృద్ధి మరణంతో వడోదరలోని జూలో సింహం లేకుండా పోయింది. జూలో ఉన్న చిట్టచివరి సింహం సమృద్ది మాత్రమే. ఇప్పుడు అది కూడా మరణించడంతో ఆ జూలో సింహాల జాడ పూర్తిగా అంతమైంది.
