పూర్ణామార్కెట్లో సోమవారం అర్ధరాత్రి దాటాక 1.30 నుంచి 2 గంటల మధ్య సంభవించిన అగ్ని ప్రమాదంలో 16 షాపులు దగ్ధమయ్యాయి. పూజా సామగ్రి, పండ్ల దుకాణాల్లో ఈ ప్రమాదం సంభవించింది. పూజా సామగ్రి దుకాణంలో గల దీపారాధనకు వినియోగించే నూనె, కర్పూరం తదితర వాటి కారణంగా మంటలు మరింత చెలరేగి సమీపంలో ఉన్న 15 దుకాణాలకు వ్యాపించాయి. సామగ్రి మొత్తం కాలి బూడిద య్యింది. అర్ధరాత్రి వేళ మంటలు వ్యాపించడం గమనించిన స్థానికులు వెంటనే అగ్నిమాపక సిబ్బందికి, పోలీసులకు సమాచారం అందించారు. దాంతో హుటాహుటిన అక్కడకు అగ్నిమాపక సిబ్బంది మంటలను అదుపులోకి తీసుకుచ్చారు. లేకుంటే మొత్తం పూర్ణా మార్కెట్ అగ్నికి ఆహుతయ్యేది. విద్యుత్ షార్టు సర్క్యూట్ కారణంగా ఈ ప్రమాదం సంభవించినట్టు పోలీసుల ప్రాథమిక సమాచారంలో వెల్లడైంది. క్రిస్మస్, ఆంగ్ల నూతన సంవత్సర సమయాలు కావడంతో వ్యాపారులు పూజా సామగ్రిని, రంగులను పెద్దఎత్తున కొనుగోలు చేసి నిల్వ ఉంచుకున్నట్టు చెబుతున్నారు. ప్రమాదంలో సుమారు రూ.20 లక్షల నుంచి రూ.30 లక్షల వరకు ఆస్తి నష్టం జరిగి ఉంటుందని అంచనా. ప్రమాద సమాచారం తెలుసుకున్న మేయర్ పీలా శ్రీనివాసరావు, దక్షిణ నియోజకవర్గ శాసనసభ్యుడు వంశీకృష్ణ శ్రీనివాస్, మాజీ శాసనసభ్యుడు వాసుపల్లి గణేశ్కుమార్, పలువురు నాయకులు ఘటనా స్థలానికి చేరుకొని బాధితులను పరామర్శించారు. జీవీఎంసీ కమిషనర్ కేతన్గార్గ్ ప్రమాద స్థలాన్ని పరిశీలించి బాధితులతో మాట్లాడారు. జిల్లా కలెక్టర్తో మాట్లాడి ప్రభుత్వం తరపున అన్నివిధాలా సాయం అందేలా చూస్తామని హామీ ఇచ్చారు.

సిరిపురంలోని వీఎంఆర్డీఏ చిల్డ్రన్ ఎరీనాను వైసీపీ నాయకులు రాజకీయ వేదికగా ఉపయోగించుకోవాలని చేసిన ప్రయత్నం చివరకు ఓ ఉద్యోగి సస్పెన్షన్కు దారితీసింది. వైసీపీలో చేరాలనుకున్న ధర్మాన ఆనంద్ ‘గెట్ టు గెదర్’ పేరుతో చిల్డ్రన్ ఎరీనాను బుక్ చేసుకున్న సంగతి తెలిసిందే. కార్యక్రమం సోమవారం కాగా ముందురోజు రాత్రి అక్కడ వైసీపీ అధినేత జగన్మోహన్రెడ్డి ఫ్లెక్సీలు పెద్ద సంఖ్యలో ఏర్పాటుచేశారు. సాధారణంగా రాజకీయ కార్యకలాపాలకు ఆ వేదికను ఇవ్వరు. కానీ ‘పార్టీలో చేరికలు’ అనే విషయం దాచి ‘గెట్ టు గెదర్’ అనడంతో వీఎంఆర్డీఏ సిబ్బంది పెద్దగా పట్టించుకోలేదు. అయితే వైసీపీ ఫ్లెక్సీలు పెట్టిన తరువాతైనా ఆ విషయం ఉన్నతాధికారుల దృష్టికి తీసుకువెళ్లాల్సిన బాధ్యత అక్కడి సిబ్బందిపై ఉంది. వీఎంఆర్డీఏ పెద్దలు చెబితే తప్ప వైసీపీ కార్యక్రమం జరుగుతున్నదనే విషయం ఆఖరు నిమిషం వరకూ గుర్తించలేదు. చివరకు సోమవారం ఉదయం 9 గంటలకు గేట్లకు తాళాలు వేయడంతో వైసీపీ నేతలు ధర్నాకు దిగారు. రాజకీయ కక్షసాధింపు అంటూ కూటమి ప్రభుత్వంపై విమర్శలు చేశారు. ఇంతటి వివాదానికి అక్కడి పర్యవేక్షకుడు ఆర్ఐ వై.కిరణ్కుమార్ విధుల పట్ల నిర్లక్ష్యంగా వ్యవహరించడమే కారణమని భావించి ఆయన్ను సస్పెండ్ చేస్తూ మెట్రోపాలిటన్ కమిషనర్ తేజ్ భరత్ మంగళవారం ఉత్తర్వులు జారీ చేశారు. ప్రధాన కార్యాలయం ఎదురుగానే ఇంత గొడవ జరుగుతున్నా తగిన విధంగా స్పందించలేదని అధికారులు ఈ నిర్ణయం తీసుకున్నట్టు తెలిసింది.

It is estimated that property loss of around Rs.20 lakh to Rs.30 lakh has been caused in the accident. Mayor Peela Srinivasa Rao, South Constituency Member of Parliament Vamsikrishna Srinivas, former Member of Parliament Vasupalli Ganeshkumar and many other leaders reached the spot and visited the victims after learning about the accident. GVMC Commissioner Ketangarh inspected the accident site and spoke to the victims. He spoke to the District Collector and promised to provide all possible help on behalf of the government.
