The situation of the employees who retired after March last year is not only miserable but sad. Even though fourteen thousand employees have retired for 20 months, they have not received their gratuity, commuted pension, provident fund and leave encashment. All these together can average up to 50 lakhs per person. With these financial benefits, difficulties arose for activities like child marriages and house construction. At present they are getting only monthly pension. People who have worked hard all their lives and hoped for retirement benefits are crying because of government policies. About 36 people still died due to diseases due to lack of economic comfort or mental suffering. This is outrageous!

The Supreme Court of India has ruled that pension is a fundamental right of an employee. But the Telangana state government has been delaying for 20 months without providing the benefits to the retired employees and teachers. As soon as the Congress party came to power, they promised to pay the salaries to the employees on time and also to pay the dues immediately even if the BRS government did not pay the employees, to implement the PRC within six months and to grant all DAs pending by the previous government. Moreover, with the partial contribution of employees, it came to power by promising to provide treatment for all kinds of diseases in all hospitals, issue health cards, solve all the problems of employed teachers, cancel CPS, and trust the government employees. But it is running in the same way as the previous government. The government does not care if the retired employees are dying due to mental illness due to non-payment of pension dues. Is this government not responsible? The government should immediately respond and pay the retirees in one lump sum. For these benefits, pensioners have gone on hunger strike in all district centers today.
