Kamalanagar: Police arrested Devarakonda Ajay who attacked the CI in Anantapur with a knife. Going into the details.. On Sunday night, the accused Ajay, who was under the influence of alcohol, attacked a young man named Raja with a knife and escaped. Following the victim's complaint, two constables along with the auto driver went to Aakutotapalli on Monday morning to nab the accused Ajay. In this order, he attacked the police. Auto driver Baba got injured while the police escaped. When the second town CI Srikanth went to arrest the accused, the accused attacked him too. As a result, CI was injured on his left shoulder. In this sequence the CI fired two rounds on the knee of the accused. CI Srikanth explained that they had to fire as part of self-defence. All of them are currently undergoing treatment at the government hospital in Anantapur.
