Today, Amaravati: Telugu Desam Party announced the president and general secretaries of the Lok Sabha constituencies on Sunday. Of the 25 seats in the Lok Sabha, five women have been appointed as presidents. Giving due priority to the backward classes who have been the backbone of TDP since the beginning, it appointed them as party presidents in 8 Lok Sabha seats and general secretaries in 12 seats. OCs have 11 posts, SCs 4, STs and Minorities each. Chief Minister Chandrababu did a long exercise to select the Lok Sabha Constituency President and Chief Secretary. Social, political and local mobilisations, loyalty to the party and preparation of future leadership were taken as the basis. A balance was maintained between seniors and youth.

The three-member committees went to the respective Lok Sabha seats and selected the president, general secretaries and other working group after taking into consideration the opinions collected from party MPs, MLAs, constituency in-charges, information taken through various surveys including IVRS, party leaders and activists. Chandrababu has met several times with three-member committees. A list was prepared on Tuesday with the names of those under consideration for the posts of President and Chief Secretary. Based on the feedback received from party MLAs, leaders and workers, some changes were made in the list.

Chandrababu reviewed it again on Saturday night and finalized the final list. There were five changes in the list of presidents and two changes in the list of chief secretaries that came out on Tuesday. Kotne Balaji for Anakapalli, Kommalapati Sridhar for Narasaraopet, Kalava Srinivasulu for Anantapur, Sheikh Waheed Hussain for Kurnool and Manne Subbareddy for Nandyala were first proposed, but now they have been replaced by Battula Tathaiyababu, Sheikh Jane Saida, Pula Nagaraju, Gudise Krishnamma and Gauru Charita Reddy for the respective positions. Appointed as President. While the name of Syed Amir Ali was first proposed for Narasa Raopet as the General Secretary, now Nallapati Ramachandra Prasad has been appointed. The names of Bill Chenchuramaiah and Gangala Kameswar were first considered for Tirupati, and Dollar Diwakar Reddy's name was finally finalized. 

Chandrababu has insisted on giving priority to women in the Lok Sabha constituency committees and has seen it materialize.

Proper representation for women

Party leader and Chief Minister Chandrababu has repeatedly told the three-member committees to give appropriate priority to women in TDP Lok Sabha constituency committees. The list was changed twice, saying that at least 30 percent of the posts should be reserved for women. The district executive committee has been increased from 32 to 40. Five district president positions have been allotted to women. At first three women were proposed for the post of President. It was increased to five in the final list. 

  • Former Union Minister, Thithide Governing Council Member Panabaka Lakshmi, Panyam MLA Gauru Charita Reddy, former Joint Krishna Zilla Parishad Chairperson Gadde Anuradha, ST Community Mojoru Tejowathi, TDP State Executive Secretary Gudise Krishnamma got the presidential posts. 
  • Four MLAs Badeti Radhakrishna (Chanti), Nooka Ugranarasimha Reddy, MS Raju, Gauru Charita Reddy and MLC Beeda Ravichandrayad were appointed as presidents. Among them, MS Raju Thithide is a member of the governing body.  
  • Bathula Tathaiyababu, Kimidi Nagarjuna, Jyotula Naveen and Salagala Rajasekhar Babu, who are already presidents of the Lok Sabha constituency, got another chance. 
  • Among those who have been appointed as Lok Sabha Constituency Presidents are Battula Tathaiyababu, Pilli Manikya Rao, Manthena Rama Raju and Veeranki Gurumurthy as state level corporation chairmen. 
  • Boddu Venkataramana Chaudhary is working as Ruda Chairman, Kimidi Nagarjuna is working as Vizianagaram DCCB Chairman and Pula Nagaraju as RTC Kadapa Region Chairman. 

12 General Secretaries posts for BCs

TDP Lok Sabha Constituency General Secretaries have also given due preference to BCs. 12 seats are allotted to them. OCs were given 9, Muslims 3 and SCs 1. Among the general secretaries, Dollar Diwarak Reddy is currently the chairman of TUDA. Chennuboina Chittibabu is working as the chairman of Kondapally municipality.
