Train fare hike Internet Desk: The Indian Railways has announced an increase in ticket prices (Train fare hike). These will come into effect from December 26. Officials said that these measures have been taken as part of the objective to make railway services accessible to more passengers while balancing the rising costs.
According to the latest changes.. there is no change in ticket prices for local and short distance journeys. There is no increase in fares for passengers traveling less than 215 km in ordinary class. The price of ordinary class train ticket which goes more than that has increased by 1 paisa per kilometer. Mail/Express has hiked fares by 2 paise per kilometer on AC and non-AC trains. Those traveling 500 km in non-AC train will have to pay an additional Rs.10 only. The new prices will be effective from 26th of this month. The Ministry of Railways estimates that these changes will generate an additional revenue of around Rs.600 crores for the railways. target="_blank" rel="noopener">Facebook, Twitter, Instagram& Google News.
