Internet Desk: Bangladesh once again shocked by the murder of student leader Sharif Usman Bin Hadi. He played a key role in ousting Hasina's government with the student movement. The situation turned violent as the protesters hit the road. So who is Usman Hadi..?
Anti-India..
Usman Hadi was born in 1994 in Jhalkati district of Bangladesh. Usman, who had the ideology of the movement since childhood, grew up to be a student leader. In July last year, he played a key role in the uprising against Awami League leader and then Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He took up key responsibilities as a convener in the Inquilab Manch political organization that emerged from that movement. Some years ago he made comments against India. Recently there were reports of distribution of maps showing North East Indian states in Bangladesh.

During the election campaign..
Despite playing a key role in last year's student uprising..the interim government led by Yunus did not recognize the Inquilab Manch as a political party. The party has been banned from contesting next year's national elections. With this, Usman Hadi prepared to contest as an independent candidate. Hadi entered the ring from Dhaka-8 constituency. On December 12, he was attacked while campaigning for the election.
Hadi was riding in an auto when unidentified persons came on a bike and fired at him from close range. Hadi was seriously injured in this incident and was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. As his condition worsened, he was taken to Singapore for better treatment last Saturday. He died on Thursday while undergoing treatment there. The doctors revealed that Hadi suffered a severe brain injury due to the bullet wound.
Outpouring of protests..
When the news of Hadi's death came to light, the flames of anger started in Bangladesh. Students of Dhaka University and activists of Inquilab Manch took up mass protests. Slogans were raised against India and Awami League party. Many media offices and Awami League offices were set on fire. This made the situation tense. On the other hand, Bangladesh government has declared one day mourning for Hadi's death.
