Doctors are able to see the heart and eyes of the human body at the smallest level.. they are doing treatments. And.. are you able to see the brain at such a subtle level..? The answer is no. The reason for this is the lack of extensive microscopic research on this part of the skull. Taking this as a challenge, IIT Madras is conducting research and making progress.

What is the texture of the tissue in the inner layers of the brain? The changes occurring in normal people and in sick people are being observed very minutely. Taking 3D images. Along with researchers from America, Vellore Christian Medical College, Bangalore Nimhans, Chennai Savita Medical College, Medicon and other institutions have expanded this research. class="mt-4 mb-2">Collection of 450 brains

According to SGBC researchers.. Currently, parts of the brain can be seen through MRI. It can be seen down to the millimeter level. To get a good look at brain tissue, you have to go down to the micron size. Each tissue is 5-10 microns. That is 5-10th of a human hair. Experts say that only when doctors can see the tissue and the changes in it at that level, they can give accurate treatment to the brain. For this, an imaging system with advanced machines has been brought in SGBC. Experts from engineering, medical, technical, laboratory and other departments are working on this. So far 450 brains of dead people of different ages have been collected for research. These include people from the fetal stage to the age of 60. They are being stored in sophisticated machines and are being meticulously researched.

As part of the research, 3D maps of the inner parts of the brain of the fetus in the mother's womb at different weeks have been released this year. Researchers there say that this attempt is the first in the world. Currently, 3D images are being taken of the inner parts of the brain from the newborn to the elderly. How is the brain at the tissue level in normal people.. The changes in the brain tissue level are being assessed in people with diseases like rabies, covid, Alzheimer's. The results are going to be released next year.

That is.. a capacity of 2.5 crore gigabytes. How is the brain able to store so much data? Another interesting piece of research being done by SGBC is how the arrangement of the human brain contributes to this. Scientists say that after these researches there are opportunities to focus on more storage technology in less space. In this, artificial intelligence (AI) technology is also used to see fast results.

This is a key research related to neurology and related departments. If we can see the brain more thoroughly, miracles can happen in medicine. Our research has the potential to bring about major changes in medical practices in the future. There is scope for the production of new drugs. As a result, good will happen to a few crore people. With the opening of new commercial avenues and the growth of data set analyzers in brain imaging, clinical research and clinical trials on the brain are encouraged.
