Hyderabad:With the aim of eradicating child marriage, a 100-day wide campaign was organized in Hyderabad under the auspices of District Child Welfare Department, Asrita, District Legal Services Institutions, in collaboration with Women Development and Child Welfare Department. Seetha Dayakar Reddy, the Chairperson of the State Commission for the Protection of Child Rights, who participated in the program as the chief guest, said that child marriages seriously erode the basic rights of children. People were asked to inform the concerned authorities as soon as they get information about child marriages. Another guest, Deputy Commissioner of Police Lavanya Javed, Women Security Department, said that the police department is taking strict measures to prevent child marriages and made it clear that there will be no negligence on those who violate the law. Everyone is called upon to participate in the protection of children.

After that, the District Legal Services Organization Members and president of Sankalpam Society Dr. Ramakrishna Chaudhary Koduri said that child marriage is illegal and free legal aid is always available to the victims through the District Legal Services Agency. He said that this misbehavior can be completely eradicated only when people are made aware of the laws. After talking to the students, they inquired about their awareness of the laws.
