Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said that it is not appropriate to politicize sports. He spoke about the dismissal of Bangladeshi player Mustafizur Rahman from Kolkata Knight Riders.  He said that it is not appropriate to react in this way to the attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh.  

In the background of attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh, strong protests have been expressed in India. In this background, there have been demands to release Kolkata Knight Riders franchise player Mustafizur Rahman from the team. KKR released him from the team as per BCCI's orders. But Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said that this is not the right move. Sashi Tharoor said, "It is a mindless thing to link sports with politics. If Bangladeshi Hindu cricketer Liton Das and Soumya Sarkar were in the court, they would have done the same. Who are you punishing? Nation? Religion? People? Cricket is used to carry attacks on minorities. "It should not be used. Bangladeshi cricketer did not make hateful comments. He did not attack anyone," he said. He said that he is just a player and it is not right to associate him with these clashes.    

Furthermore, it is suggested that India should have a big heart in this matter as it is not appropriate for any country to do it alone without playing sports with the neighboring countries. But India must condemn the attacks on minorities in Bangladesh, he said.
