Today, Delhi: Supreme Court of India. Former TDP MP Kanakamedala Ravindrakumar has been appointed as Solicitor General. The Central Personnel and Training Affairs Department has stated in the order issued on Tuesday that this appointment has been made with the approval of the Cabinet Committee on Central Appointment Affairs. He will hold office for a period of three years from the date of assumption of charge or until further orders. He did BL from Kanakamedala Nagarjuna University, MA from Osmania University and ML from Annamalai University. In 1983, he enrolled in Andhra Pradesh Bar Council and started his legal career. Worked as Standing Counsel for Central Government, APSRTC, AP Electricity Board, AP Transco, AP DISCOM. Between 2000-04, Krishna represented the AP government in the Supreme Court on water disputes. Elected as Bar Counsel Member in 2006 and 2012. Served as Academic Council Member of Nalsar University between 2012-16. In 2012, he got the status of Senior Advocate from AP High Court. He has heard arguments in civil, criminal and constitutional cases in the Supreme Court as well as in the High Courts of the Telugu States. From 2018 to 2024, he served as a member of Rajya Sabha on behalf of TDP. Served as a member of several standing committees of the Parliament and Vice Chairman of the Rajya Sabha Panel.
