James Cameron's Avatar-3 was released from Hollywood.. This week small films from Tollywood came to entertain. Jinn and Gurram Papireddy were buzzing in theatres. Among these, the dark comedy thriller like Gurram Papireddy is the most buzzed about. Naresh Agastya and Faria Abdullah star in this movie in the review.

The story of Gurram Papireddy is...

Gurram Papireddy (Naresh Agastya) is a rural youth in Khammam district of Telangana. He commits bank robbery for money. As it fails, he makes another plan. He comes in contact with Soudamini (Faria Abdullah) who works as a nurse in Erragadda Mental Hospital. After that he makes a strange sketch with her for money. Together with two other friends Military (Raj Kumar Kasireddy) and Chilipi (Vamshidhar Kosi), the four go to steal a dead body in the forests of Gurram Papireddy Srisailam. What about kidnapping a dead body for real money? Why bring the dead body to Hyderabad? What kind of conditions did they face when they went to steal the corpse? Why did Udraju (Yogibabu) enter in the middle? Did their plan finally work out? is the story of Gurram Papireddy.

How is it..

Dark comedy thriller stories are not new in our Tollywood. There have been many movies with this concept in the past. But in Kasta Gurram Papireddy, the director has written the story differently from the routine. Dark comedy is well worked out in this story. The director who started the story interestingly made the audience connect. The theft of corpses.. changing them.. the hero's troubles for them have cultivated full comedy. He entertained with full comedy scenes till the interval. Fuss half story revolves around corpses. And with the twist in the pre-interval, he increased interest in the second half.

The pace of the story of the second half slows down.  The screenplay is also very slow which makes the audience a bit bored. Again the story becomes interesting from the pre-climax. Some scenes seem to lag here and there. The director should focus more on that. But the Brahmanandam role connected with the audience. After many days, the way he entertained on the screen for a long time was impressive. Although there is comedy in the story, some scenes seem to have been put unnecessarily. It seems that the logic is missing by linking the Puranas to the simple story. He made the audience laugh wherever there was a chance for comedy.

The way he connected the simple story with comedy and mythology connected with the audience. But when the court room drama of the hero starts, the story loses its seriousness. The story seems to be moving here and there till the pre-climax. Finally, the director ended the story by giving the lead to the second part. Firiya Abdullah is convincing in her role as Saudamini. Rajkumar as a military man, Vamsidhar Goud as a prankster and Jeevan as Goyi entertained in their roles. Brahmanandam impressed the fans with his role. But even though Yogi Babu's role was not very important, he was still impressed. Krishna Saurabh's music is not good. Cinematography by Arjun Raja is okay. In the editing, the scissors should have been cut. The production values are high as per the story.
