Hyderabad, December 19:Maoists in large numbers surrendered before the police in Telangana. Around 41 Maoists surrendered before DGP Shivdhar Reddy today (Friday). Speaking to the media about the surrender of Maoists, the DGP said that 41 Maoists with 24 weapons surrendered before the police. AK-47s 3, LMG 1, SLR rifles 5, Insas rifles 7, BGL gun 1, 303 rifles 4, single shot rifle 1, air guns 2 in total 24 weapons were seized, he said. Out of the 41 people who surrendered, two are from Telangana, while 39 people are from Chhattisgarh.
Also, 11 people are said to be from Guerrilla Army Battalion. Errolla Ravi alias Santosh from Telangana, who has been underground for 24 years, said that Praveen has surrendered. Also Kanikarupu Prabhanjan party member, PDS member, 5 people from Second Regional Command of Telangana, Kothagudem and Alluru Sitaramaraju DVC state committee cadre said that four have surrendered. The DGP revealed that the Maoists surrendered as per the call given by CM Revanth Reddy on the occasion of Martyrs' Day.
Maoist party forced them to go to unknown places to save their lives. Divisional Committee members Rs. 4 lakhs and members are being given a reward of Rs.4 lakhs. If they surrender with weapons, they are given more cash as rewards. He said that 47 lakh crores of rewards are being provided.. Rs. 25 thousand are being given under immediate assistance. 509 Maoists have surrendered in Telangana this year. He said that 54 people from Telangana are still missing. In this, 5 people are in the central committee and 8 people are in the state committee. Also, 13 people are members of the division committee and 12 people are members of the lower level. DGP Shivdhar Reddy stated that 48 of them were working in other states.. Only seven were found to be in Telangana.
