A hearing was held in the High Court on Wednesday on a public interest litigation filed on the tender finalized for laying underground electricity cable in Amaravati, the capital of Andhra Pradesh. The High Court dismissed the PIL. The High Court asked the petitioner what is the point of challenging the provisions of the notification after a year of its issuance. The bench reminded that all three companies participated in the bidding along with the BSR company which stood as L1 (Amaravati underground power cable). Advocate General Dammalapati Srinivas argued for the government. Advocate Metla Chandrasekhar argued for the petitioner. Advocate General Dhammalapati Srinivas argued that the petitioner did not study at least before filing the PIL (PIL on Amaravati tender). Dammalapati argued that if there is an objection to the terms of the tender, the participating companies should approach the court, but they cannot file a pill under the guise of an advocate. With this, the High Court dismissed the PIL.
