Karimnagar Crime, December 22 (Andhra Jyoti): Collector Pamela Satpathy has directed Police and Excise officials to conduct surprise checks in suspected areas in the district to eradicate drug use. The District Level Narco Coordination Center Committee meeting was held at the Collectorate Conference Hall on Monday. In this meeting, the Collector said that the measures being taken to control drugs in coordination with the police, excise, women development and child welfare department officials are giving good results in the district. Police and Excise officials should coordinate to root out the sources of drugs. Sales in private medical stores were ordered to be examined. It has been ordered to take strict action if intoxicating drugs are sold without a doctor's certificate. The Collector directed the officials to visit all government and private schools, hostels and colleges and educate the students not only about drugs but also about the dangers of drinking and smoking. Police Commissioner Gaus Alam said that on behalf of the police department, the students are being made aware of the dangers of drugs and the dog squad is conducting intensive inspections. He warned that strict action will be taken if crimes like sale, consumption and transportation of drugs are committed. Additional Collector Ashwini Tanaji Wakhade, Municipal Commissioner Prapul Desai, RDOs Maheshwar, Ramesh Babu and Excise Superintendent Srinivasa Rao participated in the meeting.
