More than 80 petitions have been filed in the High Court on objections to division of wards. The High Court closed the hearing of the petitions as the deadline for objections expired.

Before merger there were 150 wards in an area of ​​750 square kilometers, some wards were more populated and some less populated. A ward was covered by two constituencies. GHMC says that it has divided into 300 wards after taking into consideration all factors without exception.
